![]() | ![]() ernestov - 2012-03-07 7:46 AM I feel quite a bit better today, almost normal. Hopefully I'll run a bit again this evening. ![]() Great news E. Knock on wood, but I don't get sick much anymore. It would be nice to think it's because I'm more fit, but I'm pretty sure it's just because my youngest is now eight, and SHE doesn't get sick as often anymore. When yours are old enough to stop bringing home every virus in the world from school, you will most likely get sick less often as well. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Today: 4 x 3/4 mile intervals at 5K pace with 1/4 mile recoveries (I could have done without the 20 to 30 mph winds and stronger gusts throughout the run...yuck). Plan to swim at lunch. And Jackie...darn I was hoping no one caught that typo until I could fix it this morning. Joe P S 3 / B 4/ R 3 Total = 10; 11:29:40 Edited by dangremond 2012-03-07 10:26 AM |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ernestov - 2012-03-06 8:13 PM I don't know the rest, but I like the challenge more than the previous ones, I think it focuses a lot more on variety rather than a lot of volume. Thoughts? I agree - I think this challenge is much more refined and will push us all to be more well rounded and to train smarter. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() For anyone interested - the running/cycling website, Strava, is running a March/April challenge where if you join the challenge and log your miles on their website you can get some free GU energy gels. Then, if everyone signed up runs > 100,000 in aggregate there are some other special discounts proposed. I've pasted the link below: http://app.strava.com/challenges/gu-100-thousand-mile-challenge If I run more than 100 miles from March 9 to April 9 I get 8 free peanut Butter flavored gels...yummy! Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Early evening run before the sun went down 4 miles in 32:53. I had 5 whitetail deer pace me the last half mile. Ok they would run really fast and the stop and run really fast again, but it was still kind of kool, since they normally just disappear into the woods. - Joe P S 3 / B 4/ R 3 Total = 10; 11:29:40 |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Went for a 5 mile run this morning before work. Had intended to go further, but (as usual) didn't manage my time well, and was in a rush to get to work. However, I'm now only working 1.5days in the next 9, so hopefully loads and loads of time to train. Need to work my way up those rankings somehow... - Joe P S 3 / B 4/ R 3 Total = 10; 11:29:40 |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 3 mile runch on the dreamill. Woke up this morning to rain, so decided to do a runch. Still raining so went to the dreadmill for the first time in years...next time will run in the rain. Also found out that keeping HR at MAF was significantly harder at the treadmill. Maybe was running at noon (instead of morning), but significantly slower to keep HR at target. - Joe P S 3 / B 4/ R 4 Total = 11; 13:18:05"- Gabe S 3 / B 4/ R 4; Total = 11; 16:28:07 - Jim S 0 / B 5 / R 6; Total =11; 8:32:02 - Mitch: S 2 / B 4 / R 5; Total = 11; 7:36:58" - MarkZ: S 1 / B 4 / R 3; Total = 8; 10:01:00" - Matthews: S 3 / B 2 / R 3; Total = 8; 06:09:00" - Samy S 3 / B 2/ R 3; Total = 8; 6:09:06 - Chris S 0 / B 1 / R 6; Total 7; 9:47:01 - Jackie S 4/B 1/R 2; Total 7; 8:05:19 - Kev: S 1/B2/R3; Total = 6; 7:05:25 - Jennie S 2 / B 1/ R 3; Total 6; 5:19:36 - Rachel S 1 / B 2 / R 3; Total 6; 04:21:52" - Charlotte S 0/ B 1/ R 2; Total =6; 3:35:00 - Scott S 0 / B 1 / R 3; Total 4, 3:45:46 - Ernesto S 0 / B 0 / R 4; Total 4; 2:22:34" - Joe S 0/B 0/ R 2; Total 2; 01:25:00 - Mark H S 0 / B 1 / R 0 ; Total 1; 0:30:00 |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Went for a very windy ride today. The wind killed me on the first 10 miles, but then gave me a real boost on the way back. Managed to get a mile with an average speed of 28mph. Possibly the fastest mile I've ever cycled! Also topped out on my gears without it being a massive downhill (and my HR was only 138!). Was an interesting ride. Then an easy swim this evening. We bought a pull buoy and hand paddles at the triathlon show last weekend, so tried those out for the first time. I'm hoping they'll help me improve the power of my swimming over time. - Joe P S 3 / B 4/ R 4 Total = 11; 13:18:05" |
