This is why the bulk of my training is done before the sun ever comes up. |

Looks like a good plan, although I am a little concerned about the run goals he has for you. I think he has you going out to fast, based on your training and racing this year, I think trying to get to a 4 hour run split may be a big ask. I would rather see you start out running a 9:30+ pace. |

The bigger indicator on the run is going to be HR rather than pace (although I think on the LP course the pace is going to vary widely). I would love a 4 hour marathon. I think a 4:15 - 4:30 is probably more likely. |

I'm bib number 152 (I'm listed at Kelly Callagher -- lovely typo -- so the best bet is tracking me by number). You can track on-line at www.ironmanlive.com. Shaun will post FB updates as well.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Felt pretty good this morning for my run http://connect.garmin.com/activity/100504546 It sure is humid for here, though. I hate the humidity that comes with Monsoon season, but we need the rain (if it ever comes). Heard on the news Monday when we got some sprinkles that we "officially" saw .03" of rain that day, which puts us all the way up to .22" for the entire year! We should be around 3"-4" by now. So yeah, it's dry. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning, everyone! I was up early for a t run this morning, and I'll be on my bike for about an hour later. My mother, sisters (all 3), and niece are staying with me this weekend, so I have lots of work to do. Saturday I'm having a party for my son Gordon, who is turning 3, and my husband Kevin, who is turning 40. We're just doing pizza and pasta, because that's what Gordie wanted, so no big stress. I have a race on Sunday morning though, and I'm worried the chaos in my house will trickle down and infect me. LOL No, I'm hopeful the party and houseguests will distract me from my silly little worries. Anyway, off to take my son to camp and then I have to scrub some floors (remember....my house looks like it belongs to a fraternity |

This is how I tend to view training and is why I almost NEVER miss a day. Racing is so much less stressful than trying to figure out why a kid does what a kid does and how to be even handed in teaching/punishing. BTW spent 3 years living in a fraternity house in the late '90s. You need to enlist help. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Quick bike this morning (Rode up the bears twice) and a short (and steep) T run. Now I'm trying to work from the hotel room and am going for a 90 minute massage at 2 p.m. Will proably go to register after that. Just trying to stay off my feet as much as possible. I took pictures of the massive pile I packed, I'll post them up later, its a pretty amusing bunch of stuff. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have been dragging a$$ all week. Haven't missed a workout, but I feel like falling asleep at work. Dragged my self out of bed at 5am, got in 41 miles, and plan was to keep the HR down. Mission accomplished, speed was slow, but HR was low 130's. That's good for me. I am now starting to feel the affects of 5 am rises for most mornings since january. Although, majority of the reason is becasue I am a very poor sleeper. Been trying the Tylenol PM thing the past couple nights. It puts me to sleep, but it makes me feel awful when I try to get up in the morning. My mind races all night, evrey night. Work, kids, family etc. it's in my genes. No one sleeps well. Except my wife. She hits the pillow and is out for the night. Kelly, we'll all be watching you closely Sunday. Hopefully with everyone you know watching, you'll have a great performance and it'll give you a little motivation. You are clearly ready for this. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Jeff you sound like my wife. She actually gets mad at me sometimes because I can clear my mind and go out cold no matter what is going on in our lives. You should see her try to clear her mind in Yoga class. HILARIOUS |

HILARIOUS I am out cold, too....the second my head hits the pillow. Different kids will come in throughout the night, and they go straight to Kevin with their concerns. Kevin said Gordon tapped my foot for nearly 10 minutes the other night, and I didn't even move. LOL He'll tell me that so-and-so wet the bed or wanted water, and it's always news to me. |

Perhaps we really ought to sell this house and enroll the kids in public school so we have some extra cash lying around |

Maybe it's the same with my kids. I am seriously evil in the middle of the night. Kevin is much more empathetic. Someone comes in and asks for water, and I'll bark at them to go get some out of the bathroom. Kevin is running up with gold rimmed cups filled with ice cubes and fresh water. |
