Rynamite - 2007-10-02 8:52 AM mmmm, another peanut butter CLIF bar.

I saw the CLIF bars yesterday at the store and wondered again HOW you can love them.  A Snickers bar, I get.  A CLIF bar, I don't.  =

Nothing wrong with CLIF bars.  I like the carrot cake, the banana nut and the PB crunch.

I'm back to work. Sadly. I feel worse today than yesterday. Oh well. Life goes on.

Running five miles in the new shoes. I'm going to try to break them in before the marathon Sunday. My old ones were nearly two years old. The shoe guy said that's not good. Oh well -- they lived a valiant life and served me well. I shall write an ode to them later.

Werd. Good thing Scout had a meeting... he'll probably rip into you when he gets back.

No way ... I'm doing it. Even if I go slow I'm doing it. It's all about mental preparation for next year. As Scout can tell you, you can't properly know what the battle entails unless you've been in battle. Thankfully this battle is going to be a slow-moving training exercise for me. And I was going to run in my old shoes but the shoe-store guy said I'd probably do more damage running in the old shoes than the new ones.

I'm not worried about it. I'll take November-January off if I get hurt.

So i was way behind schedule this morning, so i finished my run this morning (3.1 of hills, whee), and then immediately got in the shower.

And i was still sweating after i got out of the shower, so i couldn't get dressed right away. Niiiice.

I hate that.

Me too. I just hang around naked for awhile.

That's pretty much what you have to do.

Welcome back Crowny. I just finished the KC opener, Kiley. Wheat's down like James Brown.

ANYWAY ... the whole sweating-straight-outta-the-shower thing sucks. I usually don't have time to hang out, literally, or I'm at the gym and that's kinda gross. I don't want to be the fat guy walking around the locker room naked.

On a side note, my gym has a `VIP' area where all the celebs and high-rollas get to go to chill. It's like a private room back there. I wonder what the heck makes it so special. You have to scan your retina to gain access. I'm going to pretend to be interested so I can see what it's all about tonight.

Crowny- welcome back.  How was your vacation?

Thanks LT.  It was fantastic.  We both really needed it.  Had a 90 minute therapeutic massage on Friday night and that just set the tone for the whole weekend.  Ate great food.  Drank great wines.  And just generally did not much of anything.  Just wish it were a bit longer.

Well that's kinda interesting. Must be a pretty nice gym.

My gym barely has a locker room.

Interesting locker room experience today...for some reason the showers were all full this morning, but I didn't KNOW that when I wandered down the row of showers thinking that last one was free.  Haha...it wasn't.  Oh the trauma...

I don't know why but I just keep thinking of the movie `Porky's' ... funny stuff.

Yes Ryan it is a nice gym. Way overpriced but VERY clean and organized and they cap the number of people they allow membership so it's never crowded. I figure as much time as I spend at the gym I might as well go someplace I like, right?

I know... I am just happy to have a shower stall at the gym.  When I swim at the community rec center, I have to shower in the prison style showers.

My Y has three shower stalls and three open showers.
