Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Way to go everyone!!! Today was a scheduled day off.... Not sure how the rest of my workouts will go. Had Justin's follow up MRI from the concussion. Scan results were not what was expected and in fact the new images of his brain were worse than before. Trying to keep it all in perspective right now and not worrying until the Dr tells us it's time to worry. Waiting on a referral now for a pediatric neurologist. As a mom, it's a tough time right now.... Part of me wants to run and not look back and the other part is afraid to leave his side... Tomorrow will bring a new day and a new perspective... Counting the hours till then! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Trying not to think about Justin and just put my energy into training.... I decided to go for a swim this morning and it was a great workout. 30minutes/1300 yards averaged to 2:18 per 100. For me that is a massive improvement, an improvement of about 30 seconds per 100 or so. Now the calculations may be a tad off but even so, I'm very very happy! I hope to go for a ride this afternoon. I won't use the same route as before because of the steep down hill and I'm still have only ridden out doors at best 20 times ever since I was a kid. It will be a short steep climb then a nice steady downhill then back up the hill. May have to do it a few times but I wont be in main traffic with this route. The gradual climb will help I'm sure..... |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Beautiful day here so I went for the ride I wanted. Didn't go to far, but a nice repeat. 33:53 7.58 miles avg speed 13.4 thanks to the downhills! It was a good section to repeat with the 100ft climbs and then the 200ft climb at the end. I will see about replacing my sensor for the one that gives my avg cadence... It's finally time to spot talking about it! Training today was good for the soul. Cycling and swimming and like diving in the sense that when you are doing them.. all other concerns stop except what is immediately necessary to stay safe. |

Not bad considnering I've done nothing but aerobic efforts on the trainer for the last several months and today had some pretty good hills and some headwinds. Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 30 min lunch time swim. This March challenge has made big improvements in my swim. Wish I had done more time in the pool earlier. Late night run. Not that nice running in the dark at night. On the nightly news a lady training for a marathon assaulted about 20mins from my place. Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Dragged my butt to the pool for the first time in the morning in like forever. Big psychological accomplishment for myself. 30' in the pool and then over to the high school track to finally calibrate my footpood on the track and then to do intervals. Was supposed to do 12x400 but only had time for 9x400. Avg HR on the 400M at 7:20 pace was 158 to 160. Similar intervals in fall of 2011 had HR at 170. In 2010 HR for those intervals was in the 175 range. Nice to see improvements in my running economy! - Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 6 Total = 20; 22:24:05" |
