Hey guys- hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving, or for those of you in other parts of the world- a happy november 22nd

I'm doing a duathlon on thursday morning to justify the copious ammounts of mashed potatoes and pie I will be eating later in the day

I suppose this is not surprising that "kats" don't care for the water!    OK Karen...go to the pool!

*sigh*  I didn't go.  I gave into temptation and had a strawberry toaster pastry and watch Oprah's "My Favorite Things" episode.

But I'm going to the gym in the morning for a weight workout.  And between cooking cheesecake and dressing, I'll try to get to the pool.  Maybe, if I'm really coordinated, I'll swim after my weight workout in the morning.

Oh well... I had to be awake at 6:30 anyway, since my daughter has swim practice from 7-10 -WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

I swam!  Yay!  And I did it after a weight workout, so I get to mark off two of my three goals for today.  Now, I need to fit in a run this afternoon.

Oh, and bake a cheesecake.

Awesome job getting in the pool Karen, we knew you would do it for the team!  But why do you have to live so far away, we'd happily stop in to help you finish up the cheesecake!

Happy Thanksgiving Team!

Got out this morning to do some damage control. An 8-miler took me over my running goal for the month! Does that warrant some extra pie???

Sadly I did not get a run in today.  There's still a very slight change it'll happen tonight, but I doubt it.

But I did do 12.5 miles of commute riding.  And I bought a headlight to wear while running, so I can no long claim that it's too dark to run on the trail.

Good job!  Yes, you can have an extra slice of pie.  Or a slice of cheesecake, if you desire.

Well done David. You are looking good for making your targets. I'm in a pretty similar boat. My bike and run targets are met, 3 strength sessions to do, 2 swim sessions should just about see off the swim target.

The only stumbling block is the beat a pb target I set. The only place I have come close is on my normal Friday morning route. Ithink my best chance for this would be to run the route one night next week.

Good luck everyone, have a great last weeks training. No more hospital visits - ok.

Hope everyone had a great week! Looks like a lot of us are at/close to target. Well done!

I had a good week. I did a thanksgiving day race which was fun, here's a link to the race report:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=96886&posts=3&start=1

I updated the spreadsheet. I'm at 73% for swim (will finish it up with 2 swims this week), 116% on the bike (thanks to a longer than expected group ride today), 90.5 % on the run and am at 66% of weight loss (hope I can lose that last pound this week).

Lets finish strong 5 for fighting!

Well, I feel like I'm letting myself down. I didn't recover as quickly from the Half as I wanted, and then Thanksgiving hit. I'll get the biking done, but I'm going to miss a little on the running and the swimming.

Biking - 9 hrs - 90%
Running - 10:15 hrs - 68%
Swimming - 7:30 hrs - 62%

I've updated the GoogleDoc spreadsheet with my numbers too.  I'm over 100% with everything except my biking where I'm at 95.30% with that.  I need 2 more trainer hours this week to go over my goal on this...should be a piece of cake!

Hope all the USA team mates had a happy Thanksgiving, and giving a last big motivational cheer for everyone to help get over the 100% mark this week!

Ugh... I so do not want to report my update this week.

Bike: 3h 59m 18s of 5 hours = 80%
Run: 82.22 Mi of 100 miles = 82%
Swim: 6850 M of 14000 M = 49%

My kids being home sick last week really messed me up and to make things even better, I had a stomach virus yesterday. I am still going to make my run goal. I am going to have to put in my long run tomorrow which will suck but I'll get it done! I think I can squeeze in the bike too...somehow. The swim will get much closer but I had to do 3 masters workouts this week and I didn't do this morning's because of the stomach virus, but I can still get in 2 more.

The good news is I did the local Turkey Trot and took 13 minutes off my overall time from last year for the 8 mile run.

Great job to everyone who is keeping on top of their goals!

Grrr... I brought my running clothes to do a run at lunch today. I get all dressed, pull out my shoes and realize I have brought 2 different running shoes and both are for the right foot. I also brought my swim stuff in hopes of squeezing in a few yards after work, but runs take priority over swims, so I am cutting out of work early to go home and get my run in.

This is all a big reminder to myself not to procrastinate! I skimped on my swims early in the month knowing I had plenty of time. Now it is coming back to haunt me!

Okay, team.  Sounds like some of us (myself included) are going to be pulling some interesting numbers this week in an attempt to reach our goals.  I wish everyone the best of luck in reaching their goals.  For those of you that are going to reach your goals without problem...big congratulations!!
