I am headed to Ann Arbor to do some interviews at U of M. I got my MBA there, so I go back every year and recruit for potential interns for the summer. I liked it there except for the bitter cold...

My hubby's undergrad is from U of M. He love(d) it...I've even made it to a UM/Ohio State game at the Big House. Great city...but too cold for me! (OK, I went to school at Iowa/Illinois...but for some reason it seems warmer!).

Hi all....I am fighting a stupid cold.  Wahhhh.  I wanted to ride outside today but didn't -- I am seriously pooped.  Then I spent the afternoon at the doctor's office with my 3-yr-old who decided to put a huge, half-popped kernel of popcorn up his nose.  Sigh.  I will be resuming life again tomorrow...new hope for the nation and for me!  Off subject-I posted a couple of pix of dresses on my blog that I am considering wearing to Oprah.  Any input is appreciated, as I am unable to make decisions on my own.    Hope y'all had a good Monday and will have a great week!

I like the black dress with the red bows.  I am a bit into red, but then you know that

I have tomorrow (Tuesday) off! My boss is staying home to watch the inauguration so doesn't need me, and I'm feeling better so I'm thinking a short run and just other hilarious things are going to ensue!  Oh. When I was driving home tonight I took the back road into my town and OH MY GOD it was like driving into a cloud!  The fog just appeared and never went away till I got to the top of my hill. Amazing! It was so thick and dark and eeire! I was waiting for some ships to come out of it. Heh.

Yes. I am feeling a LOT better!  Zicam really works. I recommend it!

I started using Zicam this year and feel like it really does make a difference as well.

I woke up pretty sore this morning, so I am going to take today off. I was planning on taking tomorrow off, so now I plan on running at the hotel gym tomorrow morning assuming I get in tonight close to on time.

I'll be offline until Thursday, so I hope everyone has a good couple of days

Hello folks!  Well I've had a most wonderful day and I've managed to get LOADS done!  it's like I got my Saturday all over again!  The fog hasn't lifted here all day and it's been dark as hell outside!  I got a nice hilly treadmill run in as well as a swim!  Plus, the gym was empty!  I am going to try my hardest to get up an hour earlier and hit the pool before work because it's at it's utmost cleanest then! Crystal. Was just lovely.

Hi everyone!!

I made it back from Ann Arbor safe and sound. Still trying to defrost, but it was a good trip.

I did not get to work out yesterday because to gym at the hotel did not open until 7am. (that made no sense to me). I did my best to eat well, but it was a struggle. It is much easier when you are home and in control of the food selection.

I plan to run after work today and my son slept through the night, so no excuses for me.

Kristen, sorry to hear you have been hit by the bug now. Get better soon!!!

Whassup today, folks?

Hi, Kim!

Glad to hear you're back, Brian - and I'm with you on the traveling/eating dilemma.

I'm feeling a bit better...word on the street around here is that the tummy bug is short lived.

enders_shadow - 2009-01-23 6:07 AM TGIF!

Ain't that the truth!  For a 'short week' it sure was long.  I have to report that I am indeed winning my battle with my cold.  It dropped into my lungs a little bit but today is feeling much better!  I actually got a little bit of sleep last night, so that was nice, as well.

I booked my flight to the LUNA Chix triathlon summit, so I am totally excited about that--5 days in Berkeley and San Fran (3 days summit, 2 days playing) all by myself with no hubby or kids to contend with.  Yay!

And I've managed to drop a few pounds, which makes me ecstatic, as well.  Hopefully by the tri season I'll be at a good weight.  It is so hard to get it to go away....grrrrrr!

What do you all have lined up for the weekend?  I don't have much, but hopefully weather isn't too gross so I can take a spin outdoors on the road bike.  I may meet up on Sunday with a gal who is marathon training and run a few miles with her.  I need a long run, like maybe 10-11.  If my cold is gone by then, of course.

Not much on tap for my weekend...

Hoping to bail out of work a little early and do a trail run this afternoon...we're supposed to get up to 60 degrees...HEATWAVE! Then tomorrow back to the 40's so need to enjoy it while it lasts.

Tonight - pizza & beer with the fam. (Well, beer with the hubby, pizza with the fam!)

Tomorrow - probably a trainer ride...

Other than that...I got nothing planned. Moved my long run to Monday to adjust for next week where I'm out all weekend.

Hi everyone

Not much going on here. Got a little too busy to workout during lunch, so I am going to workout tonight at home. Its probably for the best because I get to use my trainer vs. a regular exercise bike.

No big plans for the weekend. My wife has plans during the day Saturday, so I am going to be taking care of the little one. It looks like the high is going to be around 20 and windy for both Saturday and Sunday, so it looks like it is back to the gym to do my long run (6 miles) yuck!!

Good morning folks!  Happy Friday!  I am in SUCH A GOOD MOOD!  I found flights to Scotland for under $800!!!!  Now all I have to figure out is a job to come back to.

Tomorrow I am taking part in a 100 lap swim to celebrate Tukwila, Wa turning 100! I asked to be in the 7am wave! EEK!  I'm going to bring my bike and take a nice short ride up the Green River Trail towards Seattle. Its been ages since I've gone on a bike ride.

Sunday I am going to run with the people from Balanced Athlete then have lunch with them. Apparently there is a Scottish guy in the group, so I'm excited about that

Hi all!   I am back from a quick trip to Atlanta.  I was planning to blog from there but the internet was $18 a day!  I just couldn't bring myself to do it, so I'm catching up now.  I did manage to squeeze a run in at the hotel gym.  It was very sad to see how empty the hotels in Atlanta were- ours was apparently at 30% capacity.  We had dinner in the revolving restaurant on the 72nd floor (the highest hotel in the western hemisphere!).  Once I got over the sheer panic (and elevator ride) it was pretty cool. I did notice that the elevators looked like they were glass, but that it was covered over.  I'm wondering if too many people panicked going up 72 floors in a glass elevator- I'm sure I would have been hugging the door.

So I think I will do a run today on the treadmill- maybe try for 4 miles or so.  I am aiming for the 1/2 mary in May, so the 16 week program doesn't start for a week or so.

$18 for internet!!!!!!!  Wow!  That's about what I pay A MONTH!

Well I did my 100 lap swim! Took me 51 minutes exactly   It was so much fun. Everyone there was SO FAST!  EEK!  I thought they were doing 5 to a lane but I guess the 1st wave was the quietest so we all had our own. I finished just about a minute and a half after the 2nd last group. So I got a big cheer when I got out!  hehe It was hard work!  I'm not used to swimming that amount all at once.

Now I am thinking about a short nap.  Didn't get to bed till midnight and up at 6am!  Then about lunchtime I'm hoping the sun will come out so I can go for a wee bike ride.  Nothing  major, just a few miles.   Then I think...a well deserved pedicure

Like I already told you, Lynne, that swim was smokin' hot.  For those who don't know, Lynne is super fast in the water.  The first time we met we went swimming in the lake and she probably had a good laugh at my lack of skills.  If I recall, I didn't even own a swimming cap at that time! It was also the longest I had ever spent in the water, which was 45 minutes....although mostly I was jabbering and not swimming.  Things have changed, now I have two caps (plus many race ones) AND two pairs of goggles.  Hehe.  I just remembered on Thursday that I need to kick when I swim, and subsequently took 10 seconds off my 50 m times.  Big duh, there!  Lots of improvement left on the swim for me.  Luckily I love open water swimming so I do a lot more once the lakes start to warm up (or even when they are nearly icy in the spring!).

Enough about me, hope you are all having a good Saturday!

Wow!! Great swim.

I have been avoiding the pool like the plague so far this year because of the cold weather, but that has to change soon, if I want to even consider doing longer races this summer.

My wife is out, so I am running the show right now, just relaxing after my 6 mile run this morning. Chris is taking what I hope is a long nap.

Have a good day everyone!!

Mz Leslie.  You hush.  You swim fine. Think of how much you've improved!  Ya bum ye!    I just consumed about the same amount of calories as I burned at the pool. hahha.  Why do I find that funny?

Here's my certificate!

What a morning. I couldn't find my car keys. I was utterly frantic. Crying, in a total panic. Turns out my husband had them.  I could literally have strangled him. I turned up 3 hours late.  Thankfully no one is here.

Turns out I am OFFICIALLY off to Scotland and Brussels in August! I am SO excited!  Need to save for the flight now! $764 return! WoOHOOO!!!

That has nothing to do with triathlons I know. LOL.  Sorry.
