It was either that or take a hip hop class. Talk about the lesser of two evils... . Mrs. UTT would find me charming and entertaining. I could hang out with her while you "work" which really, let's face it, is a stretch... "work" in Australia? "work" in Tahiti? I think not... I like the dreadmill but only if it's a fancy Woodway one. I also love, as in LOVE, my trainer because riding the trainer is pretty much the only time I ever watch movies or t.v. It's also possible that I have a system whereby my children and I have walkie talkies and should I need anything they fetch it for me... they are very familiar with Accelerade, Gu, shot blocks, Infinit, Gel Bursts and, of course, Trader Joe's PB filled pretzels. I've noticed that my PT has Woodways but I've never tried them. |

Extreme Veteran 483 Pacific NW | Subject: RE: Crypt Keepers - Halloween Run Challenge I'm done for the weekend! It was a big one for me (unfortunately for this challenge, the big miles were on the bike and not the run), but I feel great afterwards. Tired, of course, but not defeated. I'm at 11.4% of my goal for the month...just about on track! |

I have finally figured out what my goal is going to be: 40 miles. I know it isn't much but its the best I have ever done so its good as gold from my point of view. Tomorrow will be my first run for the month. My plan 4 miles. I REALLY hope it isn't as cool as it was today cause I dont really like running inside. The track isn't bad I just prefer to be outside thats all. Anyhoo I really wish I had more time to chat with everyone cause I would love to get to know you all better... But it's still fun to check out the board when I can and read up, so dont stop k?! Talk to you all later. Min What do you consider cold? I've run at 15F a few times! OMG!! Where do you live Alaska!?!? hehe just joking I consider 40 cold, then again I'm kind of a wussy when it comes to the cold. |

I'm only doing 31 miles for the month, a mile per day (average) so you're right in my league. The last thing I can afford to do is trash my knees and feet, and focusing on taking it easy is my #1 goal. Nice job getting out there!! Sounds like a perfect goal, it never a good thing to hurt yourself. I'm going to do my best and just focus on getting my 40 miles in. |

Dressing right is the key. I've comfortably run outdoors in -20F (yes that is MINUS). Most of the winter in Minnesota we'd run down to about 0 many times. It's cold, but break out a couple pair of tights, and wind pants, and you can stay actually pretty comfortable... Strange I know. I'd almost rather run in the cold than in the heat!
