I typically use Body Glide which works pretty well. I was out of BG so I decided I'd try some Band-Aid Friction Block that I had in my camelbak for hiking. It did not work well at all. I have a blister on the arch and the top of my right foot and on the ball of my left foot. I will be stopping tomorrow to pick up some more BG before I go out running. The Band-Aid brand stuff didn't go on nearly as well as the BG and I even questioned it in my mind before I went running.Take care of those feet Ghoulies!!! sorry you have blisters! and you take care of yours too Ann! Im sending some quick blister healing thoughts to you! did you get them and are they all healed now????? hoping/praying!!!!!!!! I did get them, in the form of some moleskin. I didn't think I had any, but there it was. Did you send it? Thanks. Edited by aspeelma 2009-10-21 5:23 AM |

I've got a long boring day of work ahead, then... off to the pool to swim, lift and run 2.5 miles of intervals on the treadmill. I'm going to get my body fat checked at the Y this evening, too. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm curious as to what it is. HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!! KEEP ON RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We were nice and let the other teams know what it's like to be leading the challenge, but I think it's time to stop being nice. Great run! I agree, let's stop toying with the other teams now. |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #3 serendipity - 2009-10-20 8:36 PM Our forecast says 62F on Thursday. If you go back a few 30-40 pages there was a post about our water pump freezing. And before that there was a post about snow. Now we are back in the 60s? I wish the weather would make up its mind. It's been weird fall. I'd rather have taken the nice slow progression rather than the extremes. Of course, I wasn't complaining about the 60s the day though |

Elite 3447 West Allis, WI | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #3 Morning Team. Well I am officially a cheerleader for you guys through the end of the month. Someone got my diagnosis right in here and I was truly shocked when the Chiro told me the problem: ITB but it has not hit my knee - just effecting my upper leg. No running until almost Thanksgiving - He said I could do the turkey trot most likely but I don't start Marathon training until Mid-December so I am good with that. |

What a great cheerleader I have turned out to be so Bill...I missed what the doctor said in all this silliness this morning! soooo what is the verdict from your chiro??? I believe you called it - ITB and bad. 4-6 weeks off of running. Can still ride but no cross because of the dismounts, running, jumping, and remounts. Got the foam roller last night and have been working it already and it hurts like a mother in case I have not mentioned it yet today (which I have about 4-5 different times already ) I did not think it was ITB because it never hurt my knee and that is what I have always heard about ITB. But now I know and now I rest - bleck! when its all the way down in the knee, you've got a severe case of ITBs....at least thats what my chiro said. i asked the same question, since my ITB has been cranky going on two weeks, and im only feeling it in my hip...and my glute....and my back. man i need to get off the road, running. tearin' me up something fierce. stacieb that is why I prefer to run dirt trails or next to the path on the dirt. I would run around the track but that is SUPER monotonous tome! I would rather jump off a bridge! not the ones by you though Tom...so your safe! We have this packed gravel/sand next to the path that is my favorite to run on. that is sooo much easier on our joints...even your young ones! so here is the question for Wednesday....do you run pavement or path? and which do you prefer!? Mostly pavement for me. But there is a dirt/packed gravel path at the park I run at. Unfortunately its only a mile out of a 3 mile loop otherwise I'd run on it more. But if I'm doing hill repeats I will run back and forth along that mile. |

Elite 3447 West Allis, WI | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #3 MORNING GHOULIES. minor adjustment to the plan this morning, well. more like. a minor adjustment to the route i was planning to run. my oldest son is home sick. that makes 3/5 now. dh and i still 'standing'.... high temp. cough. same symptoms. im gonna get out for my 12 miler today, but im gonna do an out and back that way ill stick closer to home. my guess is that he'll either sleep all day and/or play his DS, read, watch movies all day. guess it explains the PISSY mood yesturday. feel bad now, that i was so short with him. :{ my youngest said NINE kids were out sick yesturday, just in his class. manohman it IS a pandemic! i had my share of sick already, so im hoping for a 'get a jail free' card on this particular strain. my husband is SURE to get it, and he's a BIG BABY when he's sick. WAY worse than the kids....not that i want him to get sick, but OI ME this is ONE CONTAGIOUS STRAIN OF YUCK! well. i need to eat my egg whites, and then im off to stash my stuff while my food digests. im kind of bummed, i cut out the part of my where i get to run through the woods/on the trail...but this way makes so much more sense. ill feel 'better' being closer to home. besides. when i get back and i post my run to the spreadsheet i get to watch my percentage go WAY up there. WEEE. its the little things.... Sorry to hear about the sickness Stacie and that you had to cut the trail part of your run out....I'd send get well vibes to your home..but I have one sick here too |

Yes that is a good point - so you are sending me into cold cold cold lake water unalone I assume You can aquajog in the very very cold lake alone. I will, however, stand on the shoreline with a towel for you. |
