Taught a very chilly bootcamp tonight.  Will get a run in tomorrow night, possibly a bike as well and now I am off to walk the dog and then hit the hay.

^^^^^Sandra, are you an accidental fitness professional too or is this your primary career?  I take it your bootcamp is outside?

                              *****career changers Toppage!*****

Yes, I'd say I'm an accidental fitness professional too, I participated in an outdoor bootcamp for a year(lost 100 lbs!) and one day asked they owner of the bootcamp I went to what it takes to become an instructor, just out of curiousity.  She got so excited that I asked and offered me a job before I was even certified, she facilitated the entire process and now I teach 3 classes a week as a part time fun thing, still have my regular full time job, but who knows maybe in the future I might transition into a full time fitness professional.

That's phenonemal....  100lbs is a lot...

xs like a gazillion SANDRA.

100 #s is IMPRESSIVE!

other than the outdoor bootcamp, what did you do to lose the weight?  did you do tris while losing??

tell me/us more!

The main form of exercise was bootcamp, I started with going 3xweek, then after a month 4xweek and after 3 months, I went 5xweek for 3 months and then dropped back down to 3xweek.  I did this with my husband(he lost 79 lbs) so we really supported each other through out.  We also drastically changed our diets, we didn't go on a diet(tried that a few times and failed miserably) , but changed the way we ate.  We stick with the food guide suggestions and eat from the 4 food groups most of the week, but allow ourselves 2 anything goes meals a week.

Over time we started adding in other activities, my husband trained for and then ran his first marathon this past November, we started doing the Grouse Grind on a weekly basis, building a gym in what used to be our entertainment room and I started and completed the process of become a certified group fitness leader.  And of course now I am training for my first Triathlon and find that person I was just 16 months ago a distant memory..I don't huff and puff going up a flight of stairs in my home, I manage to stuff a lot more into my week then ever thought possible and still have energy at the end.  There have been pitfalls along the way with injuries, but I didn't allow that to be an excuse to fall back into my old ways. This is a great life and I'm going to enjoy it to the fullest!
