Merry Christmas, all!

Santa brought me a new Spinervals DVD and a Bento Box for packing my lunch. Sugar Daddy and the Monkeys got me a digital food scale (among other presents). I'm so excited to get my eating back under control...which is very much in order after spending the evening last night gorging at Texas de Brazil (Brazilian steakhouse with the wandering meat servers - OMG).

I have gained a lot of weight since this summer when I lost my MOJO and also based on some meds I've been taking. Part of my winter/spring goals is to get this back under control.

As far as the short term goals, I'm on day 5 without diet Pepsi and have followed my training plan (except for yesterday, when we went ice skating as a family - rather than swimming...which will always be the first sport to get shafted...I hate to swim).

Merry Christmas everyone..

Just got back from my sister's who is a great cook... yum..

I've had a crap load of wine, and have taught my nephew enough fart jokes to last a couple of months,,,   since my daughter is 22 it's revenge on my sister for all the shopping tips she gave my daughter when she was young. :P

Husband gave me a new timex ironman watch.  I'll finally be able to run to time vs. distance.  Workouts have been temporarily placed on hold, other than trudging through a foot of snow to care for the dogs.  I'm looking at the plowed road and wondering if I brought warm enough clothing to run in.

Hope everyone is having a good holiday! I tested out my new Spinerval this afternoon "No Slackers Allowed"...sweaty good fun.

On the diet Pepsi front, I've gone almost a whole week without! Whoo whoo! Easier to break the habit the 2nd time around. I'm looking forward to setting a new goal to meet.

Be careful running in the snow if you are not used to it! Much better to stay safe and skip running than to risk safety.
I love my ironman watch too!

Congrats on 5 days Diet pepsi free!!!

Its so hard to follow the training plan during the holidays. Family always comes first, but I do try to sneak in my "me time" either early in the morning or later at night. I find that I am much nicer to my family if I get my training in regularly.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Just taking it easy tonight with a glass of wine and reading "Going Long" Training for Ironman-Distance Triathlons by Joe Friel & Gordon Byrn.  Would love to do one someday.

Have one more day of celebrating (some friends are coming over tomorrow).  It has been really foggy and icy here the past few mornings.  Will see what it is like tomorrow morning.  Maybe go for a run tomorrow or jump on the trainer.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

I took my very first ride on my new bike, on my new trainer - also a first, in my new bike shoes - again a first...

So~  I can't seem to get the hang of clipping in.  I needed my hubby to help and it didn't seem intuitively obvious to me.  Putting my weight behind it didn't help...   Clipping out is easy-peasy, but getting in is not.  I know that everything takes practice, but does anyone have any tricks?

Congrats on the new gear! You have to step hard to click into most pedals. Which type did you get?

It depends on the type of system you have. I remember it taking what seemed like forever at first to get clipped in. You will find the "sweet spot".You will get a feel for it eventually......and then will not give it a second thought! Promise!!

I started with mountain bike SPDs.....they were ok to get in and out of. Moved to Keos.....which were actually quite tricky at first and then I got used to them. I now ride Speedplays. Best. Pedal. Ever. Easy easy to get in and out of. I love em.

I'm in! Just what I need to get back on the wagon. The cookies are gone, the relatives will be gone tomorrow, and the snow is gone so I can run outside. NO JUNK FOOD is a great goal!

I want to start eating cleaner but (which I have been) but I'd like to take it up a notch but not to the point of absolutely no treats.
