Great running today guys especially in the chilly conditions. when is the next race

Weigh In day Today

Considering only 3 days of training this week i have managed to drop a further 3lbs which i am happy with. Hopefully drop below the 224 this week which will be a milestone. Still on for the stone in a month. Been a bit hit and miss on the training only managed running this week. Trying to plan the weeks training as on the road for the mid part with work. Will take swimming gear and try and find a pool to train in on one of the nights.

Hope everyone has had a successful week.
Gonna join some of you in watching the games tonight. We have the Arizona v New orleans game starting around 9:30 over here. ( Go warner ) will it turn into a shoot out like last week.

Good job on the weight loss! I'm down too, but not that much.

Sorry to say that I'm watching the game as well, but rooting for the Saints instead!! Go Saints!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I wish I had never taken the day off yesterday, was planning a bike and run brick today, not going to happen. Ended up getting up late and then going to my daughters apartment at school, the only place I lost weight today was in my wallet.... school supplies, new winter coat, lunch for her and the boyfriend....yikes....will it ever end? Had a nice time with them though...what ever happened to my little girl? Sorry for the digression.

Watching the game now at her apartment then a little nap before heading back home. I have some make up work to do tomorrow....bike and then trail run...maybe even a swim....

So some have asked about my fitness assessment....I did survive....the best part was the cute girl that that did the tests, sorry I digress again.......so the test consisted of body measurements, % of body fat, pinched my body fat in certain areas, took my HR and PB, then had me bike and get my HR to 70%, also did number of pushups in one minute and number of crunches in one minute, and then how far could I stretch (that was probably my worst)....they put all that in the computer and I will have results in a couple of days compared to my AG, I wanted to have a benchmark, I will post in my notes and have done again in four months.

Chip - would love to hear how that Ap works, I always have my BB on me would like to log everything also. My daughter was just showing my wife a site called Spark People, supposed to track food calories ect...I have not checked it out yet but sounded pretty cool.

I see your last post which was like a paragraph.  If you hit quote it will bring the stuff from that post to one you can comment on.

I only have problems with the blogs from my Mac, for some reason the tools above don't show up and I get code. Strange.

Everything works fine on my PC - OK I am a Mac and I am a PC, but on BT I would rather be a PC

I've been looking through that area but can't find anything with body weight or % body fat.

Great job, Mac! I'm really impressed - both by how specific your goals were and how well you're doing on them (implying they were pretty realistic for you). Taking some mental notes for myself, there.

Down another pound or so (shhh, I'm rounding), which I'll take given the less-than-stellar workout week. Got in my 7 miler yesterday - it's a step back week, so down to 7 this week, up to 11 next week for long runs - and my 90 minute half-century-ride spin class this morning. We officially settled into a 75% MHR on the heart rate monitors today (with some intervals, changes in position, etc), which turns out to be reasonably difficult for me to hit on the bike... so it was a good workout. (I can hit a 75% rate on  run in about .5 seconds - nothing like having to carry along that extra body weight.)

Hope everyone's having a terrific weekend. Feels good to be back on track.

In there, go to "Actual"  The drop down for values has like 25 graphs.  One is BF%, weight, and stuff.  They are farther down the list.  Let me know how you make out.

Hope everyone's week is going well. I go back to my trainer for the first time in 2 weeks.  I am nervous.  I know he will show no mercy. I really have lost a lot with this break, after Megan's break.  Slowly though, I'll come back.  My goal is to be ready for the 5k in a couple of weeks and then on to the 4 miler.  I do have  plans for my running that will take me to the marathon in Oct.

When I was in Florida, I started reading Marathon, a novel by Hal Higdon.    Not very well written from a literary standpoint but I'll get over that.  I'm half way through.  He give subtle instruction throughout so  I am enjoying that.  I can guarantee that if I didn't like running, I would've thrown this book out for the quality but I am a geek so I can't wait to see how it ends.  In reading it, it has reminded me a little of why I love running.  It is my escape.  There are no cell phone (I turn mine off but carry it with me so I am not disturbed), no phones, no computers, no TV or issues.  It is my time for me.  I tried running on the dreadmill last night and there was way too much going on.  It seemed counterproductive.  I am going to try to do all my runs outside.  I need my outside runs.

If you want to read a great book that is well written and has some nice tidbits about running read "Born to Run" you will enjoy it immensely.

Hi kids.

Dexter and I just completed a 40 mile ride around one of the Finger Lakes. Temp was 25F at the start and 44F at the end. His fancy bike computer put some of the descents at -5F with the wind chill.

What's your key workout this weekend?

Hey everyone

so how have you all been this week, the site seems to have been pretty quiet all week, not much chatting going on. How has the training been going.

Ive had a mixed week due to work. Getting the training in has been pretty disjointed with no clear idea of what i will be able to attempt until the day wears on and i see where I am going to be and at what time

Have been around the UK this week for meetings, Scotland on monday, Liverpool Tuesday, Wales on Wednesday / Thursday and then Back to London for friday. (Basically the 3 of the 4 points of the country)

Have made some good moves on the swimming with 3 good sessions and a run session midweek. The right knee has been a bit sore hence the short run on wednesday night. Decided not to push anything if it hurts slightly (other than the normal training pain) dont want to overdo anything and have to stop. Trust me this train takes some getting going again

weight loss of a 1lb this week. Should I be disappointed? slightly but considering the travelling and the evenings of overly rich hotel food with guests and i have to admit a couple of bottles of beautiful Rioja Gran Reserva during the week I am happy with that. Not so much travelling next week so will be able to plan the food and training better

Looking forward to the Divisional Playoff games tonight. Im thinking Indianapolis over new York (sorry you North East guys and gals) and as much as i would like to see Minnesota beat New Orleans they look like they could put 40 points past anyone. So greta games to come

Hope you all have a great sunday. Look forward to hearing from you all on the weekend training

Dave

Down 2.5 or so, so I'm happy. I keep wanting to run on Fridays and not being able to for wanting to rest before the long run, and swim class on Saturdays turns out to be exhausting, so I shifted my long run to Sundays this week (after the bike class rather than the swim). 12 miles at some point today... I think I'm getting a nap in first! We'll see if it's any better when the schedule rounds out next week.

Mac, I think you did great this week with getting the workouts in despite all that travel - all I want to do when out of town is eat and curl up with the hotel TV.

Marma-awesome ride.  My fingers are freezing thinking of those temps.  I couldn't even imagine.  I last only a few minutes under 30 degrees and then even with gloves I start to go numb.

My weight was down from last week but up from yesterday by over 2.5lbs.  I didn't do anything real bad that could account for it so I am thinking too much salt yesterday.  I am hopeful that all this healthy eating will pay off.  I keep thinking that about the personal training too.  If you read my logs, you'll see that I am the incredible growing woman.  WTF?

MAC-great job with the weight loss.  That is so difficult with traveling.  I don't know how you do it.  I felt absolutely toxic for a few days after all that restaurant food and airplane air.  It literally took me 3 days to get back to feeling semi-clean.  I give you tons of credit.

It has been a quiet week for sure.  No sweat.  It good to stop by even if you don't train or workout.

I'm down 3 ounces at least its some movement.  The thing with yesterday's ride is now we have to do it in February.  My quads are talking to me today for sure.   Millers hill rises 570 feet in 1.5 miles at spots steeper.  Can't feel that on a trainer.

Fourth week of watching what we eat, well at least you guys,  try to stay focused on what you are eating and how much.  Lots of good weight drops on the board  so lets see if we can give MAC a run for his money.

Have a great week everyone.  do well, be safe, have fun!

Tough decision...  I can either run a half marathon in March or take a gig flying to the Bahamas for five days.  Wonder what I'll decide to do????
