Sunday night I was a wreck, laying on the couch with my legs elevated watching kid movies with my 7 year old daughter. I had a long ride Sat. and had run 18 miles earlier on Sunday. My wife saw me relaxing/recovering and said "You know what your problem is? You just aren't taking your training seriously. What you need to do is get on the bike and spin as fast as you can for 45 minutes" (This is the same wife who hired a coach for me)

Has anybody else had similar words of encouragement?

Had to sit out the last three days with a cold Cry. Hoping to get ready for Thursday for the training camp in Coz. It should be fun and pretty intense. Want to get at least a couple more centuries and some decent runs in the next couple of weeks.

Good luck to all.

My wife is trying to convince me that we should run two half marathons two weeks before the race. I am seriously thinking about doing it.
I am also trying to figure out if I should sign up for the great floridian intermediate distance as a last minute fun race.
I need help.

Two half marathons in one weekend? two weeks in a row? A 20k run sounds pretty normal for this time of training, but if you push your pace to "race" it you could get hurt or miss a good workout the next day. If you take them as training I would assume it would be ok but I am definitively not an expert...

I was just responding to the post by Pschriver about encouragement.
I doubt I will do it. However, I do like half marathons.

Now I am starting to feel like the time is getting close. Does not help that a co-worker is leaving for Cancun for vacation on the 22 and talking it up. Training is going ok but want to get in a few more long rides to feel a little more confident. Have a race rehearsal coming up this weekend, 5 hour ride followed by a 40 minute run. Hopefully that goes well.

My crazy wife decided to do the race cuz she didn't want to "sit around all day waiting for me."  She's been pretty good about talking me into working out when i'm fragged and vice versa.

My wife and I fly in Wednesday and are staying at Melia Cozumel.  All of the logistics are starting to go through my mind.  I still need to find a bike case.  I can't decide between hard or soft case.  It is all slowly starting to sink in now and I get nervous if I think about it too much.

I believe the Climate Change conference will be held only in Cancun. So it might be packed at the airport if you fly through Cancun, but I doubt there will be many of them in Cozumel. Plenty of Ironmen and families to keep it exciting though!

Good luck

I wonder if Al Gore will be there?

The possibility of meeting all the massage therapist brought in for the IM might be more than he can "handle"
