ironannekidd - 2010-02-02 1:00 PM I'm going to end up making 2 different meals at my house. I eat chicken, a lot. The husband and kids eat a lot of starches. Most nights, for them, dinner is meat of some sort, corn and mashed potatoes.

I have tried to get them to eat other things but they are resistant to change. They will eat peas, carrots, or green beans if I make them. We just don't have as much of those things as we have corn.

We live on a farm, we grow a lot of our own veggies. We also butcher our own meat. I don't buy beef or pork, only my chicken.

Ann, your family would starve here. Vegetarians that eat fish. There isn't a veggie I don't like. Don't get me wrong. Love them starches but the consist of bread and pasta mostly.

Meat and bread, that's what I eat.

My kids will eat fish, I'd rather not. I like lobster and crabs though. When they were younger they'd eat broccoli, they used to ask for it, I don't know what happened.

I try to be creative with the meals, but I frequently get "that's not how grandma makes it" or "we don't eat that at grandma's." To which my response is "you aren't at grandma's now, are you?"

The kids do pretty good with the fruits though. They'll go through the grapes, bananas, strawberries, and apples I get at the grocery store in 2 or 3 days.

I used to get that a lot... " I don't really like it that way". It is so hard not to say "Too damn bad". Our kids were UBER picky. Now they eat everything.

EEEWWWWWWW!

I'll just leave the two of you alone to discuss this one.

Oh Anne! I guess if you don't like veggies and some fruits this discussion is definitely not your taste

Nice.

We can talk wine, or ice cream, or brownies. Mmmmm brownies!

Alcohol and chocolate. Two of the most essential food groups!

Do you have food? I'm hungry.

Just ate some tasty clam chowder. warm and yummy.

Thanks. Along with veggies, I don't eat soups either. I'll just continue chewing on my penCIL.

I have a pencil, but it's of the mechanical variety. I don't think that's the same. It has skulls on it though!!!

Mine have tried to pull the - eat 3 bites of dinner, they're full, then right after we clear the table they ask for cookies. I don't think so, here's your plate.

ironannekidd - 2010-02-02 3:57 AMI will get together a list of the music I have tonight. I got side tracked this weekend with the kiddos and typing papers for the fourth grade.

Every year in the elementary school the kids write stories then the school prints them out and binds them into books for the kids. Because of my job I don't really get to go into the school much to volunteer but I can type. So I volunteered to type up the stories the kids have written. It took longer than I thought, mainly because of they way the pages are formatted, and also because it is REALLY hard to read some of the kids handwriting.

I'm done for now. I'll be working on second grade papers soon. I can't wait to try and read that handwriting. One of the worst ones I saw though was from my own son. I had to have him translate several words for me. Guess what I've been having him work on this week.... yeah, he's been practicing his handwriting.
I have a second grade son, too. I can relate to the need for translation. The new problem at our house: he thinks he can write in cursive, if he just practices. Around here, they don't teach cursive until 3rd grade.

Oh man, if you just lived closer, I'd buy a side of beef from you! I HATE buying it at the store--I even bought a freezer so I could buy local---but I haven't found anywhere out here yet.

AFTERNOON GHOULIES.

woo hoo on your nice three miler TOM.   must have been the day for em cuz that's what i did too....along w an itty bitty strength training session.

i did get out and ATTEMPTED to buy some clothes.

i swear im the WORST clothes buyer person.

i stand and look and look and stand.

i see stuff that looks good in the store only to bring it home, try it on, and hate how it looks on me.  [i dont like to try it on in the store....]

i'll be taking 3/4s of what i bought back to the store.  BAH!  typical for me.

ive been trying to 'soften' my look...ive been getting a lot of feedback lately that i have that 'athletic' look which is fine...when im at the Y, but when im out and about, im not sure thats the impression that im after.

but what with my uber fab KICK AZZ haircut and some new glasses, im not sure i can/want to get away from that 'edgier' side of me.

CAN WE ALL SAY STACIE'S TRYING TO FIND HERSELF???

ive always had this artistic/creative/divergent side of my personality and for lots of reasons, i put that aside for a look that was more 'maternal'/practical.

what mom shows up at church nursery with a nose ring?  LOL.

but....as much as i tried, i just couldnt bring myself to keep the things that i bought that were on the softer side.

i DID fall in love with this spectacular necklace (will post pics) and a form fitting long sleeved shirt that shows off my....

SWIMMERS ARMS

i dunno.

i guess im just finding myself is all.

that said, any of the GHOULIES want to meet up with me on my next shopping spree.

we could that, you sit outside the dressing room and i parade in front of you, wearing a gazillion different outfits and you can give me a two thumbs up or a two thumbs down.

OH STACY.....OH CLINTON WHEREFORART THOU STACY AND CLINTON.

LOL.

wgraves7582 - 2010-02-02 1:55 PMAmy - what is going on in UT today?
Just me getting caught up in the village. But there was so much to read that now I have to go get the kiddos from school. i did weigh in, and I have 5 pounds to lose this month. The worse news is that 2 of those pounds were from the last week....hopefully it's all water weight, right? Oh, and I did a short, easy swim ths morning. I am one step closer to getting back into a workout rhythm. OK, gotta run now--later Gouhlies!

wgraves7582 - 2010-02-02 3:38 PM Stacie,

If you look good athletically - dress to look good!

Take it for what it is worth - if I were looking I would want to see someone comfortable with who they are.  Sure you can't wear a sweat suit to dinner (but I do to church periodically ) but nothing wrong with showing the guns off if you are carrying the permit!

THIS....is why I LOVE YOU.....mr graves.

mwah!
