wplummer - 2011-03-09 10:47 AM would like to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support. mere words are not enough-but THANK YOU to everyone. so i learned something last night on my run sweat doesnt mix with the cream that i have to apply to my face. because of the sweat it burns like a MFer...lesson learned. so this morning i had to run easier-plus it is cooler to survive my run. have a wonderful wednesday everyone.

Ow, ow, ow!!!!!  Maybe you could run on a treadmill with a fan blowing directly on your face.

i didnt think of that. but i dont have a gym membership(by choice), and i am just stubborn. so i may have to tough it out for another week until i return to the see my doctor.

Emmanem - 2011-03-09 10:33 AM Rock climbing was so much fun today!!  Conquered 3 boulder routes  Then tried out a new route which was tough but I made it thanks to James and my instructor encouraging me and giving me pointers.  Had to bring my right leg up way high then stand up on it and reach for one of the final handholds.  It was scary!!  I don't like having stand up on my legs and feel like there's not a handhold right there for me to grab but I'm very glad I did it.  Slowly but surely getting better each week

Awesome! I love climbing - wish I had more time to go more frequently. Used to climb 3-4 times a week, before I discovered triathlon ... Undecided

Morning All!

I think I am jinxed this year with flats. Had another this morning, fixed it, and sued CO2 for the first time - awesome - was very proud of myself, but must have missed whatever caused it because just down the road, flat again. I gave up and called my husband.

I have to say I was impressed with the amount of riders today offering me tubes and assistance and some guy even stopped his van to offer me a lift home. I was tempted as my husband had to leave work to get me, but my Mum said never take sweets from strangers and I am pretty sure getting into a strange mans van beats that one....

Also being thwarted in all of my yoga and sprint set attempts. I had both planned for Saturday but now I have to ref most of the day and I desparately need a massage to sort my legs out before next weeks fight. Oh, and they asked if I would fight 5 rounds next week so I am going to step up and take it. Nerves already starting to kick in!

I just had a leg press competition with a colleague and now my knee hurts... I pumped up to 130lbs and stopped with an isometric contraction at 140lbs. She beat me pumping through the 140! This is what happens when there's a gym in your workplace...

I'm glad that there's also ice in my workplace.

I'm going to say I hope your knee is nothing serious and smile at the fact you had a leg press comp - that sounds like the kind of thing I would do

Zumba was okay......I had to think too much about keeping up with her steps while modifying it for my legs.

I also took a 15 min abs class so it counts towards my strength goal ....and an extra new class cause I never took that class before.

Thats kind of how I feel about zumba....its ok....I've only done it a couple of times and save it for days I really don't want to do anything else but could do with jumping around a bit.

Got a 5k on Sunday... nothing big just a small race by a group on campus to raise money for a mission trip.  Going to be interesting to see how I do, it's a really hilly course.  My only goal is to run the whole thing not walking.

1 piece of the teaching portfolio puzzle complete! I did the teaching philosophy. No, still not satisfied... but if I keep working on it a year might pass.

It's the Clemson FCA chapter.  They're going to DC for a week.  I'm not sure what exactly they'll be doing.  One of my sister's friends is going so my sister called and asked me to run in it with her.

Got a walk in this morning (3.4 miles) and will bike tonight to stay on track.

Tomorrow morning get to go see the dr about the hand/wrist - will see if they tell me I have to follow in Rhoda's footsteps. Been managing to brace it and keep the pain mostly dealt with for years but last week my pinkie and ring finger on my right hand have started to go numb. Guess it is time to get it seen. Tomorrow at 10:20 si the time.

Happy Thursday to everyone!

Stacie
