QueenZipp - 2011-04-16 7:07 AM Yanti, How bizarre WAS the other night? This must be off the hook C-R-A-Z-Y!! The other other night was not so bizarre. I met a wonderful guy, we got together, spent more time 'deep talking' than anything, and have been talking since ... Then tonight we planned to meet late at a bar on the beach (since both of us had earlier plans). My 'earlier plans' wound up being extremely bizarre, yet very fun. Then when I went to go meet him at the bar ... Okay, well, let's just say THEORETICALLY, as in, in the NOVEL of my life, like if this were a movie ... why does every guy story in my life end with something like ... "and everything was going great until he said he was that depends on what the definition of "is" is ... the plans, per se, involved no piglets. An unexpected piglety gift may have stumbled into them. Ah, I mean, the plans. Deevil, Deevil, Deevil ... you ... you ... know me too well? I did, however, in a fit of premorse (as in, before remorse), as Hooker Piglet was calling me on the phone to confirm we were meeting, both lie to him AND to the Unplanned Piglet (with whom I was walking hand-in-hand in the rain) about who I was currently with and where I was going, respectively. Now, I ... drat. There may be another side to this story, entirely. It was very interesting that I did in fact get that phone call at that exact moment, in retrospect. I may have also been walking down a one-way street you have to take in order to get to the beach street that the bar we planned to meet at was on. But but but I took Unplanned Piglet straight to his hotel--like, booted him out of my car at the lobby--and I went to the beach bar from there! And I certainly wasn't paying Unplanned Piglet! Never mind. Thanks for the wake-up call. I think I'm going to call this one karmically even, keep the crazy story, try to lose the 13-year-old attitude (and maybe pick guys without 16-year-old attitudes) ... and like that. So whether or not the hooker scene was deliberate, I was wrong. Sigh. ^^^Immature impulsive piglet-crazy drama queen ... Carry on.

Mmm hmm. That's what I thought. Bad Yanti. LOL It would be interesting to ask Planned Piglet if he saw you strolling on that street with Unplanned Piglet, thereby causing him to pull out his wallet and pay Unplanned Hooker in order to provide you with Unplanned Feedback regarding his thoughts on the situation. Yeah, I'd say it came out karmically even. Although, if you still have Unplanned Piglet in your pocket (so to speak), that would make you come out ahead. (This is based on the assumption that Planned Piglet would have to take out his wallet again, if he wants to spend more time with Unplanned Hooker.) Your life is ALWAYS interesting, isn't it? LOL |

Glad to be home in clean, dry clothes having taken a hot bath with a cup of tea. This is what I'll be doing tomorrow morning - in the snow/rain/wind ... thankfully we didn't get as much snow today as they predicted, but I think more is on the way tonight! I also believe I'm going to look at my potential new Land Rover tomorrow ... but K got called in to work an overtime shift tonight, so not sure how that will impact our plans tomorrow.

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge Wow, lots to catch up on! I've had a few busy, but good days. My dd's appointment actually went well on Friday. Her platelet level is actually perfectly normal! We're now thinking that she was just really gripping hard onto the metal bar of this swing that goes round and round when we went to the playground on Thurs. Great, so now I have to be on the lookout for bruises that look like signs of low platelets?? Anyway, hubby's root canal went well too and he decided to take up all to the drive in Friday night to celebrate. The kids LOVED it! Saturday I actually got a swim in and went a little farther than last time before the wrist got tired. I even figured out how to pull myself out of the pool with a gimpy wrist without looking like a beached whale! Spent some time at the Y after that for Health Kids day. The kids got to sit in a fire truck (always cool), get their faces painted, bounce house, etc. Today I'm still fighting off the headache that one stinking martini gave me. But I need get get the butt in gear at some point! |

Veteran 392 Calgary | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge Yes indeed lots to catch up on! Still no news on my "new" car ... a couple missed opportunities, still no chance to go see it. The excitement is starting to wear off, I'm afraid, and the seller although wanting to sell isn't terribly motivated. It'll happen, just not sure when. Whether or not I change my mind remains to be seen. Volunteered at the CPS Half this morning - stood out in a virtual blizzard for 4 hours, directing traffic ... good times. I applaud the runners - it was cold and icy and the conditions were terrible, but they slogged through it! Tomorrow my 16-week Oly training plan starts ... even though I've been training consistently the past while, tomorrow I'm going to actually start following a plan ... And back to dayshifts tomorrow too. Sigh. I really need to win the lottery. |

Master 1346 Gold Coast | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge Well everyone seems to have had interesting weekends! Hope those of you volunteering in the cold have warmed up! I thought I was going to get drenched reffing on saturday but the rain actually held off until this morning. Rhoda - great that your daughters platelet levels are ok still and congrats on the swim. Emma - seriously/! You get engaged AND a puppy - you are having an awesome month! Yanti - hilarious, really. Is we could have hung out together a couple of years ago we could have got up to all kinds of antics....I have many ridiculously random stories too, often also involving inappropriate behaviour on my part. I'm a reformed character now though ;-) Oh, and don't you worry, the right piglet will come along, don't ever settle and have a little faith. |

I love the SUNSHINE!!! I need to run out the blahs... I just wrote a letter to withdraw my dd from preschool (for June) so she can go to the YMCA sumer camp and then Kindergarten in the fall. I'm so happy and sad that my little peanut is getting so big... When did this happen?!?! |

If not, I may need to switch my thinking from being a "cat person" to a "dog person". My cat has caught an unbeliveable amount of mice/moles/voles in the last week and keeps leaving them right outside the front door. Hubby is very proud of our boy for protecting his garden... but I am just about done with the GROSSness of it all! Maybe I should just get fish? |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge rnihill - 2011-04-15 9:36 AM I was a lazy booger last night... Work was crazy and thought I'd be able to work out once the kids were in bed. But hubby insisted on having hockey playoffs on. I SO didn't want to watch that on the drainer so I went to bed instead. I'm actually glad I did... Today is not shaping up to be a great one. Hubby (aka Mr Dumbazz who didn't call the dentist yesterday) had a toothache all night and woke me up at 3 am to help him look for orajel. He's headed for a root canal now. Since he finally got to sleep around 4 I let him sleep in and had to get the kids ready solo, which is ok. But I noticed my dd has some new petechiae... So we're headed to get her platelets checked this afternoon. The poor girl is so stressed about the possibility of having to get another round of treatment. And it's report card day for her too! I think I'm really going to need a good workout tonight... followed up by a good bottle of wine! Sorry your family isn't doing well. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge bodhi_girl - 2011-04-15 10:38 AM I'm afraid I'm going to have to either adjust my goals, Crushers, or not meet them ... I have been hit with a stomach bug and am going to be missing at least 3 days of workouts ... Yesterday I didn't leave the couch, today (after 14 hours of sleep) I'm feeling like the Mack truck that was repeatedly running me over yesterday has run out of gas, and has been replaced with a normal-sized pickup ... but I'm still scared to eat. I have fruit, and tea, and I'm not hungry, so it's back to the couch I go again for the day. I'm volunteering at the Calgary Police Half Marathon on Sunday and I HAVE to go, mostly because it's ours - but also because most of my TriCops peeps are down for the Baker2Vegas run, so TriCops are counting on me to be there to wave the flag. I hope you're doing better and that things went well at the race yesterday. |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: April Pick Up-to-4 Challenge Hey gang, Sorry I haven't really been checking in! Not too much computer time, lately! I got a really good long bike ride in yesterday... probably longer than it should have been because I was getting problems with numbness in my feet and had to keep stopping to stretch out my legs. Finally I figured out what it was- I had thick socks on because it was cold, but then it made my shoes too tight and cut off circulation in my feet. Once I took off my socks, my riding suddenly became better and faster! Funny how having blood going to your feet makes such a difference! They were still numb at the end of the ride, but because my feet were cold, not from lack of circulation. I think I need to get those booty things that go over your bike shoes. I'll try catching up with this thread later tonight.... Probably won't be able to respond to all of it, but I'll read up on what you guys have been up to! |
