JoshR - 2012-10-05 11:28 AM Do you guys ever feel like you just really want to move somewhere, but you can't?

Every time is below 80 here, which is A LOT!  soon as my kids are old enough to fly independantly.....I am out.

I really want to move to Denver, Phoenix or Albuquerque. My wife doesn't.

why not?

i am stuck here for a few more years while the husby finishes grad school, but after that i think we are both ready for a transplant.  i'm actually hoping to move to another country for a few years at that point, just because.

She doesn't want to be further away from her family. I would love to move to another country for a few years. That definitely isn't happening, so I've lowered my sights to the southwest.

you probably knew that when you married her, though?

Yeah. It's not really that big of a problem. I just happened to fly through Denver last weekend on the way to Arkansas and started daydreaming again.

I know the feeling. I will probably be applying to jobs in Chicagoland when I get back!

i think chicago is the only non-coastal city i would move to in the US.  i lof it there.

You guys are all whiners. I was raised in a 3rd world country. Appliances? Electricity? Running water? We don't need no stinking modern marvels. Hunt for your food. Eat or be eaten. Drink from the sewer. Cook on open fire.

Chupacabra? He would not dare come near my camp, afraid of the gnarly creatures that we call pets.

Or at least that is the world my American wife believes I grew up in...and her only explanation of the things I eat and the way I behave. I just keep telling her all men are like that, but she doesn't believe me.

I just want to live where the temp stays consistent .. not too hot .. not too cold. Where the sun shines but not 363 days a year.   I want to live near the angry ocean.  Not the sunny beach kind of ocean.  I want cliffs and and rocks.  That's what I want.

montana de oro, central coast, california.  this is exactly what you are looking for.

i miss this place http://www.slostateparks.com/montana_de_oro/default.asp

Morning TAN Laughing

It's a beautiful start in AZ! Coffee in hand...just me and the dogs listening to the birds on the patio.

I probably just jinxed it. Ehhhh.

You and I are living the same dream.  It's cool out .. coffee ... iPad .. birds .. on the patio.  Oh, and the landscapers across the alley are using a leafblower to blow junk around.  Who doesn't love their junk blown in the morning!

Aw such a tough life. You people don't know what loud is until you've lived in downtown Chicago. Bums fighting, sirens blaring, drunk college kids chattering, weird Asian neighbor playing some weird Asian movies til the wee hours. Psh you suburbanites and your first-world problems. GET OFF MY LAWWWWN!
Came home last night to learn that the neighbor two doors down from me was getting evicted and pulled a gun on his landlord, daring him to set foot on the property. Cops, SWAT, fun stuff. City living is grand.
If the earth were to be given an enema, Cleveland OH would be the point of insertion.

Cleveland is what I call Mistake on the Lake (that's where the Captain calls home

Yup, I can't argue with any of that, but it's home :/
Still kicking myself for ever coming back here, but it is what it is, for now at least.

I thought it was just our small town. Got all excited to find one up in Phoenix one day. Was a very disappointing afternoon to say the least! Had to use them when we went back to KS for J's HIM. Bought everyone lunch with the cards... and m-i-l tells me thank you. Sure, anytime. hahahaha

Shoot next time you can send them to me.

Panera here just started their breast cancer awareness promotion.  They give a portion of the proceeds from the special bagels they make to the cancer center I work at.  The research VP brought in a whole bunch this morning and left them in the break room for everyone.  I tried to resist but the smell of those bagels toasted almost made me lose my mind.

Yup, I can't argue with any of that, but it's home :/ Still kicking myself for ever coming back here, but it is what it is, for now at least.
Would you like to spy on my date for me? I still think he may be marry?  Wouldn't that just make me a little angry?
Eh, why not? I don't have anything else going on tonight. :/

Ok, report back what I want to hear!

Absolutely! I think it's something like "He's not married, and swears that the thing with the monkey and gag balls was really just all on a dare; there's nothing to worry about".

Men will lie and other men will swear to it!

NRG42 - 2012-10-05 12:56 PM Vietnamese spring rolls with fresh basil and shrimp from Le Colonial (in my top 3 places in Chicago)

sounds awesome.  i just got soup and a pumpkin muffin at panera(in my top 3 places across the street from work)

Yum and YUM!

My mom-in-law is really sweet. She gave us (over the course of a year) $75 worth of gift cards. ummm, we don't have Panera... in AZ...at all. They bought a chunk of another cafe/bakery called Paradise Bakery and won't put in competition. Sucks.

Toasted bagel after shave - check
