Granted, if that is already true and you are still dizzy.... maybe those earplugs work (never tried them). Greg! Lovely to have you pop in. Then again, unlike me, you generally post only when you have something important to say. LOL - Yanti dear, Everything you say is important to US! Awww Bethie ... this is why you deserve to have your own adoring fans of ALL ilk draped all over you. |

Veteran 377 | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread sorry for intruding with my unsure comment. I will just 'carry on' but in regards to the earplugs- I always wear them so that when I come out of the water I NEVER have water in my ear. As the months cool off here, and we lay bricks, that lil puddle of water in the outer ear can give you a chill in your inner ear if you run outside. I learned this thru several ear infections last season. Found it best to just protect myself from that happening.. peace/out FF |

LOL When you breathe every three strokes (as you should), one stroke is your breathing stroke, the other two are "normal ones." During the normal ones, you should have your face pointing almost directly at the floor (maybe a little up to see where you're going). As you swim, your shoulders, hips, and spinal cord move as if you were being roasted on a skewer, but your face will remain pointing towards the bottom of the pool. On your breathing stroke, your head should follow your shoulders as if you were wearing a medical brace that prevents you from twisting your head (don't take analogies too literally, but the idea is there). A good drill to practice this is to take one stroke per 10 kicks, kicking while rotated maybe 45degrees on your side. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread I thought I was going "easy" on myself this month. Today is not evidence of that but let me start out by saying it was around 34 degrees when I went out to swim practice this morning so I didn't want to leave the gym and go back later cause I just didn't want to face the cold. That being said, I think I kicked my own azz today...Swim 1600 yards (a touch over n hour), had an orange and 2 cups of coffee while deciding what to do next..Run on the treadmill (5 min walk to warm up again, 35 min moderate paced run, another 5 min walk to cool down), Hmmm still had time before core endurance class so I hit a bike for 20 minutes then did the core class. Needless to say I was shaky when I got done and actually bought a recovery shake (mmmm, mango tango) It was yummy--just too cold to really enjoy it Tons of houework to do so I won't be playing on the computer too much today Course, most of you are on the west coast and barely awake right now as it is... |

I'm also on this team and have inspired most of you I think, but somehow it didn't register in my simple little head that we had our own thread... Anyway I'm trying to catch-up on all 9 pages....geez! So, I'm K.Lynne (real name), I live in SE Virginia, I'm 38, I've been married 14 years and I have 2 boys who are 10 and 13, I just completed my 2nd season of tri (all sprint distance) and I'm planning a 1/2 mary in the spring and a full mary in the fall. My goal for this month is 40 miles running and 4 yoga sessions. |

Expert 851 Oceanside, CA | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread Wow Judi I'm tired just reading all that! LOL K.Lynne I was wondering where you were! LOL I stopped at the drug store on the way home from work last night and got some of the Aurowhatever stuff. It worked like a charm, and instantly. DH called last night and said he's going to be home a day later than expected. Bummer and yay! I miss him terribly but I'm glad he's going to be gone because we do so much on the weekends my house has been suffering and I'm planning on doing some "spring" cleaning...as in tossing everything out of the fridge and cupboards that's not healthy for us. It's easier to do with him not there. Oh, and I love having the bed by myself with just the puppies. Swim tonight and I can't wait. I could really feel it in my shoulders yesterday and I had forgotten that feeling and want more of it. |

Dee Ok, I'm trying to not traitor myself and stay within my own team's thread, but I keep seeing this all over the place...what the h3ll is "twisnibbins?" They Who Shall Not Be Named.... aka TWSNBN...... aka (pronounce it) Twisnibbins. And there are no "traitors" here - we're all just one big happy, extended BT family. You are welcome to visit any of the team threads. Everyone is really friendly. For example, there's a really interesting discussion about barefoot running on the Turkeys team. And twisnibbins is lots of discussion about pretty much nothing (and with lots of pictures). So wherever you want to go, it's all good. PS I don't know if CLeavitt has stopped by yet. But I see from her logs that she is working out! So I think that all of your team members are present, accounted for AND working out! Dee |
