Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yesterday's post....... Tempo run is killing me.. Can't maintain the pace any longer. I know I started out to fast because it was downhill but turning and heading back up I just couldn't do it! Not feeling very confident right now about my running ability. Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning swim went well. I completed a 3x300 time trial to prepare for the workouts that Scott and I will soon be doing. I averaged 2:40. I know that is a snails pace but to be fair to myself, this was the first time I swam 300 straight since last May when I did my last Tri... I tried to just stay steady and relaxed so that It would be consistent and it was... Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 7 Total = 21; 23:29:05" Edited by jenputnam 2012-03-15 12:14 PM |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great run this afternoon! Especially with as horrible as yesterday went. Went for at aerobic short run today... 36:18 2.95miles pace of 12:17 with an average HR 150. Last time I went on this run or at least close to it was Dec 11. At that time I ran 12:43 with a HR or 155 so I am very pleased! Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 7 Total = 21; 23:29:05" |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Didn't have chance to get much in today, but did a short easy spin on the turbo this evening to see how my legs were feeling after my biggest week cycling ever. Amazingly they were feeling pretty good, so hopefully will be up for my run tomorrow. Thanks for your thoughts guys. - Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 7 Total = 21; 23:29:05" |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() hey guys, thanks for your comments earlier. Its nice to know you're thinking about us even though I've only just joined Haven't had chance to do much as Rachel said today, but I went for a run earlier which was nice. Was also fast, I haven't run hard for a while and was nice to get out and just run so 4 miles in 33 mins which for me is pretty quick. We also went for a slow run on Tuesday which I haven't logged here yet, but will include it tonight. Takes me up to 4 runs this week although 2 were short brick runs. - Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 7 Total = 21; 23:29:05" |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My plans for a runch were scrapped due to heavy rain, so I went out after putting kids to bed. 1 mile @ MAF and started to rain again, so did a quick calculation and keep ~9:20 pace fot the next 2 miles to accomplish 2 things: (1) get out of the rain as quick as possible, and (2) log my 30 min for my precious point. End result: 3 miles @ 31.03 - Joe P S 6/ B 8/ R 7 Total = 21; 23:29:05" |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wound up switching my rest days, but today I nabbed a 1hr ride on the drainer and 33 minutes in the pool. I did a set of 4 x 100 descending and held 1:40 or less pace throughout. Very happy to see #3 at 1:37, but it left me a little gassed for #4. Kev & Rachel - My sincerest condolences on your loss. Jen - Stick with that swimming - you will see results. Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I traded yesterday's runch for lunch with my wife (definately an upgrade). I was supposed to do a long ride, last night but my friend bailed on me. So I did an impromptu brick session 15 miles on the bike and 4 mile run total time 1:24:26. This was my first outdoor ride on my new bike! It was a great ride, except for 5 miles of head winds off of Lake Huron. That also means I had miles miles of tail winds off of Lake Huron on the way back. I hit 27 mph on a flat, and I don't have bike shoes or pedals yet. They should come this weekend Monday at the latest. Speedplay Zero's and Shimano tri lite's. I was poky in buying because I usually don't get to ride outside until April. Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() JBacarella - 2012-03-16 8:34 AM Northern Michigan is not supposed to be sunny, 60F or dry in March, Not a complaint just an observation. I was able to run in shorts and long sleeve tech running shirt this morning. No hats, no gloves. It was 52 degrees and foggy. Definitely not what I would expect for SE Michigan in mid-march. I'm not complaining though. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ernesto (et al) Reflecting on my 5 months of regular training for triathlons, I cannot pass the opportunity to thank Ernesto and the rest of the gang here for all your support, motivation, and advice. People always say "you are the one doing the work", but I am sure that the improvements that I have made would not have been as great if not for the regular feedback from this group. I feel very lucky to have chosen Ernesto as my mentor, and I am sure I am a better triathlete for it, but more important, that I would be a better triathlete for it, for many years to come. So, right when Ernesto can barely train due to work and health issues (and yet still find the time to answer our questions), I thought it would be a good time for a well deserve thanks, maybe I can motivate him once instead of the other way around. Although maybe I should wait to thank you all AFTER my second race at the end of April...You know, just in case I choke |
