Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL I finally go a bike ride in that was more than just a commute back and forth to work. It was only 13 miles, but it's a start for the month at least. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL went swimming this morning, met a lovely one year old bassett hound named bijou, didn't know bassetts could swim LOL ok, clearly swimming is STILL by far my weakest leg, and i don't really seem to be getting any faster, BUT i am feeling a little better in the water for the most part. i think a big part of it for me anyway, is just getting warm. even on hot days when the water is nice, i'm just cold. once i get a little bit warm though, i seem to be a little more "at one" with the water. kind of hoping for an off day tomorrow -- but "coach" dh is really pushing. this is the first race of mine that he's attending, and i'm wondering if he's worried that i'm going to embarass him or something. |

So are you saying the bassett hound BEAT you in the swim??? Dh needs to sit there quietly with his mouth taped shut...at least that is what I would do... |

Expert 642 | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL I'm so proud of my son! He participated in his second tri on Saturday and beat his first tri time by 1:11!!! IF....he would have done the bike portion in the same amount of time as he did back in June he would have gotten first place (out of about 60 kids in his age group) He improved GREATLY on the run & swim but I think he was so confident in the bike portion (and so pooped from the swim) that he didn't do as well and fell behind by 3 minutes in that leg from his June times. But, overall he completed it in a much faster pace than before. I'm such a proud mom! |

Unfortunatly I think I pulled something on my right side, since now I am in a lot of pain. I guess I need to take it slow and see what happens in the next day or so. |

Elite 3067 Cheesehead, WI | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL YIKES! Just realized that my Y pool closes (well the meter pool anyhow) from the 24th on til second week in SEpt. I will be on vacation week of the 18th and am not sure how well I can manage laps considering everyone (h2o aerobics, lane walkers, etc..) will be competing for the yard pool the last week of August. Sooooooo not sure I will hit my 4 hour pool goal. Can I change it? Or just suck it up and maybe find a way to get the time in?!? Sorry but slipped my mind til today. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL I'm back! I did it! I'm so happy! Granted, it was only 20 pushups and 8 min abs, but I did SOMETHING, and that feels awesome! Going for a run if I can dodge the rain. I like running in showers, but not sure if my legs are healed up enough for the pelting t-storms we've had all summer. Yay! BbMoozer - 2008-08-11 11:35 PM YIKES!
