I'm racing, so that should take care of any chance of us having "perfect" weather for racedayYell.  I haven't raced a tri on a day that it either didn't rain or wasn't insanely hot since IMLP '07.  One could argue that I'm due for a nice weather for a tri, but I'd rather save it for my marathon in October

Let's go insane heat!  I wanna see 95+ on the run!

The hotter it gets, the more it hurts everyone else in my age group.

Sadist :p

Accuweather has Friday June 12th with a High of 82 degrees ...hmmmm

Anyone know the water temp?

I don't know what it is this year but the last few its been slighly below pi$$ warm.  If I were racing this year I would NOT wear a wet suit.  Unless it was chilly in the AM.  But the last two years I came out of the water overheated really bad.

with only 3% body fat, I sometimes have to wear a wet suit in my pool (my swim coach "heats" it to a nice 75 degrees)! Last year is was just at 70 I think so it was wet suite legal for the AGs but not the pros. The meteorologist on NBC 4 said the waters were warming up as we move into hurricane season.

If your coach "heats" your wetsuit the way the rest of us do, I'm not sure I would mention that. :-)

Thanks for the totally messed up visual

And 3% body fat?  Is one of you parents extra-terrestial?

14 days left! What does Accuweather say for the weather? If it was anything like yesterday, we will all be in good shape (at least for the elements/conditions; physically is a different manner).

Not worrying about it.

With my 35 mile ride into the strong wind yesterday I'm more than prepared.

I really like the considerable clouds part of the forecast.  I'm not a big fan of the sun.

Screw it, let's meet at a dive bar and play beer pong till 2 AM.  That'll guarantee a sufferfest the next day, regardless of the weather

plus with the beer we will be carbo-loading and with the bar nuts and hot wings we will be getting out protein and sodium

I am starting to think that I might be a DNS.  For those that don't know my history, I was discharged from the Army with a bad ankle injury about 5.5 years ago.  After 3 surgeries to fix the original injury, I have developed severe post-traumatic arthritis and no doctor has any options for me at this time except learning to deal it, which I have not been able to do.  This was going to be my first HIM; however, the increased activity (all 3 sports aggravate my ankle) has greatly increased my pain level.  (I am in pain pretty much all the time; however, I have learned to deal with that level of pain.)  I have already made up my mind that I will stick to shorter races in the future, but I was really hoping to finish Eagleman.

As of now, my plan is to come to MD whether I race or not, so I am hoping to meet everyone.  Since it is too late to get any of my registration money back, I don't have to make my final decision about racing until right before the race.

Barb,  I assume swimming is not an issue.  If you can bike, why not do that and then DNF before th run.  I know that DNFing is not how you imagined your race going, but you have trained so hard.

Or even walking, really.  There's no shame in just doing what you can do.  Just do what you can as long as it doesn't create permanent damage.  You don't have to waste your training.

If we get a repeat of last year's weather, there will be lots of walkers anyway. :-)

Rode the course for the first time today. Probably not the best idea doing it the day after a sprint.

Don't know how hard the wind has to blow to make me miserable, but more than enough was put in front of me. Even better, the wind shifted and got stronger towards the end. Regardless, I'm glad I did it, there's one less unknown out there in two weeks. Course was overall in good shape, seemed like most of the paving was done.

I was also reminded as to why I normally wear a trisuit. The spot between where my shirt ends and bike shorts begins? Toasty.

I would also be interested in sushi on Sat. if a bunch of folks are going.
