Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning, crushers! It's looking like a b-e-a-utiful day here in Indiana. Goal is to get in a ride or a run and to finally get my sorry self to the pool. I really wish my back yard was bigger than a postage stamp. I'd install a pool in a hot minute just so I wouldn't have to drive to the gym to swim in the mucky, warm pool! |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() TriAya - 2010-10-13 9:25 AM Good morning!!!! Yikes, sorry you hurt yourself! Don't do that! I had something else nice to say but I forgot. {{{NICE THING TO SAY}}} Ooo! I almost got a melon press! I'm not having any serious issues (although limping a bit the day after the run when I was at full inflammation), but I take great care not to mess with a small injury so I don't get a worse one. Triathletes are guiltiest for overuse injury and running through pain --> chronic or serious problem results. Not me! I have really bad over pronation (super flat feet) and I don't have shoes with medial (inner foot) support, or the orthotics that I should have. It's a work in progress, for now I'm just careful. ![]() How's your day so far? Feeling better? I read that you relapsed. |

Everyone I know is sick and the same pattern is appearing here... signs that work and play is being taking indoors to share germs. So far I have avoided getting sick some how! (3 people in my house have been sick, my best friend, my husband's mom...) |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I went for a run last night. I got tired of being behind so I added a couple miles to help me catch up. I have a bike ride on the schedule for during lunch and possibly another run tonight. |

We were sitting there having a nice talk. Things seemed like they were going fine and then suddenly it was over. He didn't ask me anything specific about my skills. We talked about his company and about what the companies did that I worked for. He had asked what I like to do in my spare time and I told him I'm training for a triathlon. (Was that a mistake?) So I asked if there was anything else he would like to ask me and he said "I think I know where you're at" and that was it. He didn't ask for references or anything. So I offered him the copy of the best written cover letter I have ever written and my references and drove home. I would say things went well except for one thing he said part way through "You have two of the three things we are looking for." I was really hoping this would go somewhere. Well its out of my hands now. Either they will call or they won't. I guess I better get back to doing my current job. That's too bad, but it's not over yet. Hopefully no other candidates have three of the three things that he was looking for. Did he mention what the third thing was? What type of position are you looking for? Are there other opportunities in your area at the moment? Good luck either way! New opportunities will arise if this one doesn't work out, but let's hope that it does. ![]() I'm looking for a programming position with a company that uses an iSeries server. Its kind of a unique thing. The company is looking for someone with experience with a product called Websphere. Its a little used product and I don't know anyone that has experience with it. I don't know why they want to use Websphere because the iSeries can now do the same thing without using the extra add-on product. My friend that works there did say they had one guy come in that has used it. Luckily I have a job, its just not using the skills that I have experience in or that will help me get a new job. I need to find a job that will help me keep my skills current so I don't stagnate and end up unemployable because my skills are outdated. Interesting note. I thought about going into accounting but decided not to because tax laws and accounting changes every year and you have to be continually taking classes to stay current and keep your license up to date. So I chose computers? Its even worse. At least I enjoy it. |

Just another body blow to the Ghoulies. I know they are staggering at this point and about to fall. When they go down, they won't get back up! Great job!!! Dang that's a long run. I'm not doing so hot today but I have to remember recovery is not always linear and overall it's getting much better. I told you guys I have chikungunya, right? This is not news? My brain is fuzzy and I keep forgetting who I've told or not. Thanks, hey congrats on 20,000 posts. Dang you need a hobby ![]() She has a hobby. Its BT. |

I'm not even sure I posted it here--I think I lost it in th flurry of postings too ha ha ... but thank you and i will! I saw you post it over on Team Skinny. I wouldn't even know how to say it. I did a quick search and it doesn't sound like fun. I hope you get better soon and don't suffer any long term aches and pains from it. |

So I chose computers? Its even worse. At least I enjoy it. I think it's more important to choose something you enjoy so you're not perminantly miserable. Canada and the US are dying for nurses and I considered it, but it's just not for me. So I chose Kinesiology and Teaching, neither of which there seems to be opportunities in Ontario for... I stand by my choice for now but check on me next year and I might be wishing I chose nursing. Did you send an e-thank you letter to your interviewer? That's big now according to what I've read. Can you get a book or find a website to learn a bit about Websphere? You could mention in a thank you letter that you've begun researching Websphere? |
