Expert 1358 Albuquerque, New Mexico | Subject: RE: Yanti & Lynn: Manatee Madness Mentor Group CLOSED Asalzwed - 2011-12-29 1:12 PM Alright, the details on Ragnar Miami: We will be running 200 miles relay-style with an 11 person team. We each end up running between 15-30 miles depending on which legs you take. I will be running closer to 30 (but not all at once) We start in Miami and end in Key West It's a non stop run over 2 days so more difficult than the mileage will be the sleep deprivation When you are not running you are in 1 of the 2 team vans cheering on your runner I am so interested in hearing how it goes as I am in the process of building a team for the June Madison-Chicago Ragnar. Although the one you're doing is going to be spectacular...I LOVE that drive and LOVE Key West! Lucky! My buddy Dave (BT Oriolepwr) did it last year and said you hit a cranky spot with everyone (makes sense) but everyone is all happy and friends again at the finish... |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Yanti & Lynn: Manatee Madness Mentor Group CLOSED kgore - 2011-12-29 3:22 PM The aerobars are Profile Split Second AL, and the handle bar I got is a Syntace Bullhorn 26.0; Sorta funny, my husband came home from work yesterday and took a look at them and was almost drooling. While he isn't really considering getting into tris, he does like a good bike! If I keep getting better looking gear, he might actually join me! Although he has already expressed interest in doing the Down n Dirty mudrun w/me next year---its a 1st step.... Just to revisit the gearing so -- the most difficult gear on the bike will be the biggest ring on the crank up front and the smallest ring on the cassette in the back. I think that you said at 2010 Trek 1.1, is that right? But do you have a triple up front instead of the double listed in the specs? At any rate, it looks like you have a 12/25 8-speed cassette which should give you plenty of gearing for the flat. I hear you on the bikes. My husband keeps "stealing" mine! He says that he is taking hand me down bikes and I say that he is taking wheel money! |

I've had this suit for almost two years and it doesn't show any signs of wear. I love this suit. |

Veteran 478 Hoosier heartland | Subject: RE: Yanti & Lynn: Manatee Madness Mentor Group CLOSED Yeah, I just signed up for a half marathon in May!! Is anyone a USAT member? I'm thinking about signing up for membership as I'm wanting to do at least 3 or 4 triathlons for 2012. It's $45 dollars for a years membership. Sounds pretty good, but I guess I'll give it some more thought. LOL, my race wish list is growing for 2012, but my pocket book has remained the same...small. |

Actually, its supposed to be $39 for the year if you are a new member or renew by 12/31/11. The price goes up next year and the daily license fee goes up to $12 from $10. Supposedly the USAT is still honoring the 2011 price for the next couple of days. Every $6 counts. |

Losing weight ABSOLUTELY means free speed. Unless, of course, you do it in an unhealthy way. This even includes muscle mass, to a degree. I went on a journey of my own about a year ago. I focused on decreasing my body fat % It has helped immensely. I did this through getting a handle on what I ate and drank as well as the quality of my workouts
I love thinking about weight loss as "free speed"!! I really am leaning toward giving up the Big Sur goal and just shooting for weight loss and then a half marathon PR in the Spring and a marathon PR in the Fall. This really makes sense.
My running club did the Madison to Chicago Ragnar last year and this year they are doing the Utah one in June. Its like the holy grail to be on the Ragnar team. You have to wait for someone to die or get injured before they open it to a new member. You totally scored at the gym that day. I am a little jealous. I was going to do the Kentucky Bourbon Chase Relay this year but had to decline because of a work conference. I am still waiting to get on a Ragnar team. If you get a chance to see the movie Hood to Coast, documentary, do it!!! It will really make the relay team thing seem special. Its very inspiring! |

Veteran 298 Des Moines, IA | Subject: RE: Yanti & Lynn: Manatee Madness Mentor Group CLOSED tonight i was reminded what muscle memory was thanks to my heavy metal play list. Felt stronger tonight than the last 2 nights combined. Only did 30m on the trainer and I feel like I could do 30 more. I'll refrain to save myself from some sort of injury only i'd get. Yet another day of horrible eating. 2 thin slices of leftover pizza (it's all gone so don't worry folks) for breakfast. Pot luck lunch at work so I don't even want to start with what I partook in. Then a ceasar salad for dinner because I was still sick from the pot luck. Was especially tough to get on the trainer tonight but it was worth it. Feeling great. power song was Blues Traveler - Hook. Put it in the highest gear and stand through the part where he sings super fast - double points if you sing along - triple if you don't miss any words. |

I was looking at some by The Finals and Dolfin. Any negative comments? A lot of peeps like the dolphins. I love the speedo flip turns with the criss cross back. Have you tried swim outlet.com? They have some decent sales sometimes. The poly ones do hold up better but I don't think they are as comfy as the softer material, Lycra blend maybe. No negatives I know of. Suits are pretty much personal preference. |

I was looking at some by The Finals and Dolfin. Any negative comments? I beat the living hell out of my poly Dolfin for 5 years and it stayed the course. Also felt very comfortable to me from the start--wore it for pool or pool/combo sessions up to 12K, no lube, no problems. Between that and the price, I'm a fan. Speedo Endurance drives me crazy because there's a thick stitched Speedo logo right on the butt and it keeps scratching. If you can get deals on their other poly-type suits, they wear well. Had poly suits from TYR and Arena as well and they performed fine, just not outstandingly. x2 on the swimoutlet.com; sportsbasement.com has great deals on tri and swim wear, as well. |

What if they aren't needy enough? Are they going to see past the sparkly rainbows and realize I am a fraud? Those pain meds from my surgery must have been waaaaay stronger than I realized. What was I thinking offering to mentor other people? I can barely manage my own drama! Oh, and while I am here, jojo, you should totally do the marathon...I survived a trainwreck of a marathon in October...it was all whooping cough barfing this, and brokey shoulder that, and even though I ran it 16 minutes slower than the year before, I think I am most proud of this race...I proved a lot to myself that day...plus, helloooo, already paid for... |
