omg omg omg - wait till you hear this!

So new paper route in nice area of town - climing 1125 per night just over 9 miles takes 1:30 ish to finish.  SOOOOO today I jump a crub climb over short w/ bike in hard stone wall and bammm I riding through this back yard to hit customer garage avoiding a down and back super long driveway.  Ok now for the good part.  I get to ride down 8 stairs before getting to garage!  - it's the little things for me i guess.

So good workout out today. - all the snow is gone again!

Have a super Thursday

Haven't really replied on goals because its really just to stay on track with my training program. I'm going on family trip for a few nights and then on ski trip with some girlfriends for almost a week. I guess the goal is to find ways to keep up with it or at least not get slammed when I get back. I still have almost 3 months til my tri.

I think my main goal for March is to finally seriously get my weight down to 145. I've lost some weight slowly over the months but I always blow it at times. I've got to lose about 7 pounds.

HAPPY FRIDAY - WOW what a stupid week at work.  (Real Job)  I'm nothing more than a well paid baby sitter.  Getting alittle old.

Training - I can feel my legs burning alittle - these new hills added to my morning where just the thing I needed to take things up a notch.  Saturday morning I will run the bike route - if it is not raining.....we'll maybe in the rain....either way those hills are just what my run needs too.

Goal added for March - lift weights twice per week - i have let this go when i added swimming but after not doing it for 2 months I can feel a difference.  Lifting just for those 30 mins really made me feel STRONGER.  I miss it, and must find time for it!

Have a super weekend

Bill

Well Rock and Roll Marathon Complete.  I was a good boy and decided to pace my wife for a 4 hr marathon.  She didn't make her goal but I was very proud of her.  4:07:27.  We were on pace for the first 16 miles but she struggled the last 10.  Our pace dropped from a 9 min pace to some 10 and 11 min miles.  The total average pace was a 9:27 min mile.  It was a PR for her. Her last marathon was a 4:55  two years ago.  She has come a long way since she started running.

Last hard week before my taper for Oceanside.  THis past weekend was a killer.  I swam 2 miles on Saturday and then did a 13.1 mile run.   The next morning I rode 70 miles.   The only problem I had...was some severe cramping in my left calf area.  I couldnt sleep for 2 days.  Things are better know....cant wait to start the taper.   I also have a Sprint Tri race on Saturday. Looking forward to that too!

paper route is getting fast everyday.  I so want to take the studded tires off my bike.  Then I remind myself it is only March 7th!  No snow in my parts for 3 days!  What a crazy Winter - they are calling for 65 this afternoon.

I need to swim!  I must get to the pool!

Have a super Wednesday

So normally when it rains i stay in the car and finish up the route.  Well not this morning.  90 min in big old gusty wind and rain.  I was a wet noodle when done.  But no where as bad as I thought it would be.  Good clean fun.  I'll need to give my bike alittle love this afternoon.

Hope everyone is doing well and training hard.

Well, I think I lost some weight but not because of training, probably from lack of appetite. I've been under the weather and having to let my body recover. I'm good to go for a run today. Hope everyone is having a great training week!

Not much new here.....I haven't been in the pool for almost two weeks and I've off the bike for a week but I've been running every other day and hitting the gym for lifting on the days in between.

Bad - i just read your weight loss program forum - very cool and good for you w/ the weight loss.

Still going stong - wind and flurries today and only 33 outside.  Doesn't matter as it will be warming up all next week.  Plan will be to start my bike commute to real job at least 1 time next week.  Wish me luck.

Goals for March - looking good on bike and run and weight loss to meet goal.  Swimming still has no entries for March:>(

Hope you all have super weekend.

I got a 6 mile run in this morning and a 1 hr bike in this afternoon. I have been traveling a lot for work lately. The only weekend I was home I had to go to New Orleans for my marathon. Anyone from the group have any suggestions on how to eat healthy while traveling. I can only eat so many subway's in a week.

Great weekend for me, good rest on Sunday.

So I finally finished route before 6am this morning...yup went to the pool,  lets just say it has been 4 to 5 weeks since i swam last - it showed.  I did 7x100 and wow what a crap fest!  I was so tired after the 2nd 100 and it never got any better.  My time is lower per 100 :>  but no more endurance like I had felt before.  drank to much pool water, beathing a mess, arms feeling weak.  I have read some of you are not swimming either - GET BACK IN THE POOL QUICK! Before you lose what you've been gaining.

have a good Monday

Good weekend- raced and did very well in my sprint tri.   About 7+ mins better than last year.  I was real happy with my results.  Now I have to drop a few more lbs and have less than 3 weeks for Oceanside.

PaperBoy- continue the hard work you are doing.  Believe me, all the hard work pays off.  2 years ago, I was pushing 265 lbs.  I did the Pasadena Tri in 1:16:50.   Now I am 210ish, and I did 58:16 (20 min improvement), I won the Clydesdale division out of 34 others.   It all work out.

Keep working everyone. Have a nice week.

I do travel a bit too and I fully understand about eating healthy on the road.  It is hard.  I try to bring nutritious snacks and try to live by the 90% rule (eating right, 90% of the time).   Just be discipline.   For me, salads with the dressing on the side works good for me on the road and sushi works.
