I know it's not a 100% accurate number, but it sets a constant standard for all of my trainer road workouts. Its not really number Im after as I wont be using it outside trainer road. The numbers are pretty close to what I see for power on other devices though so I'm guessing its only off by a watts to the actual numbers. That's been my experience, too. |

A split for me, but no one in my company is really working (and I work out of the house) so it'll be pretty much a half day for me. As for training: Sat: 40 min dreadmill, Sun: planned day off (this is intended to be a REALLY easy week for me) Mon: 6 a.m. 90 min Bikram Yoga, lunch 45 min drainer ride Tues: force butt out of bed for 60 min ride/30 min run, then maybe an easy lunch swim One of the tri groups I know is doing a three-hour trainer sufferfest at one of the Y's around here, but I don't think I have the butt stamina for it and it'll be an all day affair by the time I drag my bike and trainer over there and back. |

You're commited! i'm lucky that the pool is only 1 mile from my house......Showered and lying in bed waiting for my toddler to wake up. Then I let darling wife sleep in while I hang with my beautiful little girl....breakfast, milk and Dora the Explorer. My favorite part of the weekend. Thought about cycling, but planning on the trifecta tomorrow...don't want to overdue it.Edited by dangremond 2012-12-30 7:35 AM |

10 mile run yesterday....followed by an ice bath and my first experience with recovery tights. I've always been a bit skeptical about them, but I can say I'm feeling exceptionally well today. Heading out for 4-5 miles later this morning and possibly some time on the drainer later this afternoon. Also looking to get some time on the bike again tomorrow...outside if the weather isn't too cold or wet. |

I wish I could get out on the road on my bike. 2.5 hours on the trainer yesterday was not all that much fun. But there is snow on the ground here so riding outside isn't much of an option for me.
Ice baths do help quite a bit I think. |

Downhill yesterday and will either snowshoe or XC tomorrow if the place nearby lays down some tracks. |

There's an article in the latest Triathlete magazine questioning the use and benefit of ice baths for recovery purposes. Might want to check that out, essentially it says ice baths constrict blood flow and actually inhibit muscle growth/recovery. They might help with pain relief and immediate swelling but in the long term they're not good for getting stronger. |

Member 146 | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed OK this is going to be my first year on an indoor bike trainer. I've been riding for a few weeks but it stinks not having any idea how my workouts are going. I've always used my timex GPS watch while on the road. Any suggestions for a good wireless cadence computer? |

Extreme Veteran 521 | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Final numbers for 2012...all PRs for distance. Bike is a little under the actual total. For 2013, I'm shooting for being more consistent overall, and finally hitting 2000+/1000 for the bike/run and a minimum of 75 miles per month with the running.

What I did get is recovery boots, they cover the entire leg and apply pneumatic compression sequentially. The accelerated recovery process is very noticeable. Highly recommend them. If you have a Health Savings Account they are tax free too. roadrhino - 2012-12-30 10:59 AM ernestov - 2012-12-29 6:07 PM What's everybody doing this weekend? Four day weekend or a split? Training?

Good numbers, but you will need to increase running mileage for IMTX. |

Expert 1109 Guatemala | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Hope everyone is doing well. I'm down at the beach in Guatemala so I'm having trouble uploading my garmin files. However, after 3 months of not being able to ride outside (due to new baby, switch to marathon training for the cancelled NY Marathon, etc) I finally did a 65 mile, 3:45 ride yesterday. It felt tough at the end as I was riding solo in 94F temps, but it was so nice to get out and to enjoy some really cold beers at the end! Today a 10 mile run in the morning and now headed towards Lake Atitlan (Jim knows where it is), where hopefully I will be able to get a swim before the New Year Mitch Swim 6 - Bike 17 -Run 24 - Rest 4 - Total 47 Time 36:07:17 |
