No, Phillip is mental. Arrogant is putting it mildly.

Reynold is normal arrogant... and I'm not a hater. He is playing the hand he is dealt. He has hung in, found idols, tried to make move... dude's a stud, no doubt. But you know, he's too good looking, too athletic...people do not like to loose to people like him... Remember all the good looking people got together at the start of the game and he said what was very true... just like all the good looking kids in high school.... well guess what... all the not so good looking kids know than and may not vote for you some day.

That's all I mean by that. Given a choice, juries tend to not vote for those they do not like to loose against... just look at the winners. Heck, look at Russel... not only did he wipe the floor with them, he rubbed it in their face too... ya, that's going to get you a million bucks..... not.

Plus his "man crush" on Boston Rob is a bit creepy.

If I were the producers, I would have Boston Rob at the Reunion show at the end to make a comment.  I almost expect it now.

I believe it's pronounced "BR" for those of us in Stealth R Us

I seriously wonder what BR thinks when he hears his name come up during the show.  He probably looks at his wife from the show (what's her name) and roll their eyes?  Or does he think it's cool?  I would be a bit embarrassed if were me getting referenced all the time.

I didn't like Brenda last time she played.  She was sort of a "black widow".  But she's likeable this time.  Anyone else catch that she seems to be nursing a knee injury?

She has been nursing it and has it wraped.

Yeah, I mentioned this earlier, but cry babies get old FAST - so not a Dawn fan and said that weeks ago.

However, to always give someone the benefit of the doubt, lack of food and sleep and stress effects people in strange ways.  Some people lash out or other break down over what seems to be inconsequential things.  If she had a real security issue with showing no lower teeth, I can see how that can snap someone.  But wow, she was a bit beyond that.  Borderline hysterical.

Granted, Brenda can probably bank on never getting a vote from Dawn now.  But nothing is sure in Survivor.

I know what you are saying. When she kept talking about getting no sleep I was reminded of how I felt when the kids were infants and up every two hours through the night for days on end. I did get emotional but that meltdown she had totally reminded me of a tantrum my 5 year old daughter would have.

I thought last night's episode was pretty good, especially tribal thanks to Malcolm.

Dawn: I don't know, I would be pretty freaked out if I lost my teeth and was going to be on national TV. I know a lot of women who wont even go to the grocery store without makeup on, let alone be on TV W/O teeth. Good thing about triathlon, once you see yourself in a bathing cap & goggles all vanity goes out the window. But yeah there has been other crying. I feel like it is a combination of the circumstances and her age.

I like Malcolm. He is smart, he's cute and he's playing hard.

I like Cochrane too. He's smart and funny. And he's become the "challenge monster" or whatever he called himself lol, but at least he is trying.

I like Andrea. She is smart, athletic, and VERY competitive. In that hang up-side down on the grate while the water rose challenge from last week all of the guys gave up as soon as they started to weaken- she would not give up- she kept fighting for the win. And then she and Brenda really hung in with the guys for the immunity challenge this week. I was very proud of them!! And Andrea has a right to be a little paranoid- her name has come up on both sides more than once.

Glad Phillip is gone. I would not have the skills to be able to put up with him, humor him constantly. ESPECIALLY after his filthy naked bath. UCK. As far BR, he should be flattered. I think Phillip just really looks up to him lol.

So right now I would like to see Andrea, Malcolm, & Cochrane in the final three.

I think Brenda and Eric might have more game in them- they have just been holding back BUT they better turn it up a notch quick.

Reynold is a douche. That's all I have to say about that.

Yeah but add a depleting supply of estrogen to that mix and suddenly emotions take on a whole new meaning.

Trust me I am probably her age or close to it. However I would not be crying. They would have halled me off the show because would have lost it and murdered Phillip or Brandon a long time ago. Tongue out

Dawn... seriously. It just really makes me wonder... I mean she obviously has some "confidence" problems... so then how do you get on Survivor. Yes she is under stress, but you can't tell me people are TOTALLY different that who they normally are. Just wow... really, a couple of teeth?

SOOOO glad Philip is gone. What an idiot. No strategic reason, just glad he is gone. And maybe he was a good vote.. for the 3 to get some "gratitude" from the others who knows.

Awesome move by Malcolm.... it was going to be suicide to play one and save himself... he "sacrificed" and will keep votes if he get's a to a position to get them.

Reynold is no joke. He could easily make it to the end.... but I just don't see him getting enough votes to win... just too arrogant. But he certainly has a case, targeted from the start.

Eric, Eddie... meh.

Cochrane is doing good, and he could actually win if he made it to the final 3... because I think people would not mind voting for him. He has played a smart game so far.

Andrea, Brenda... meh. They are playing and they are tough. Not riding coat tails. Who knows.

I'm still rooting for Malcolm. I like his play.

I guess I don't see this.  He could have kept the comment about the girl he was cuddling with was the only one worth "fu&^ing" to himself but other than that he's just trying to last another vote.  I would say Phillip was FAR more arrogant this season than anyone else.  Most people seem to be playing a don't stir the pot game until they have to.

I forgot about his cool kids lunch table comment.  I agree.  Reynold is someone people don't like to lose to in real life so why not take him with you to the end.  Eddie hasn't really upset anyone that I can remember and Malcom is playing the game and I think most people there can respect that.  The vibe I'm getting from this group is respect for the game not bitterness.  Then again, I've been wrong before on that.

No matter what, the jury is bitter they are out of the game and got out played, outlasted, and out witted. I think that is human nature. The type of people that want to play survivor, are generally the type of people that want to win. Some can look past that, some can't. It is darn near impossible to be sitting on the jury without having been "wronged" by someone still in the game.

While there is not much redeeming stuff on TV, and "reality" TV is certainly not meaningful. Survivor is different for me. The age old case of hero and anti-hero. It puts every human trait into conflict, and it is interesting as heck to see what comes out of that. Not the drama, but how do I deny you your shot at a million dollars, but then ask you to give it to me.... absolutely brilliant. One of the best games ever. It is fascinating as heck to me to watch how people react to that.

I guess it's easy for us on the couch to say.  No hard feelings you just got outplayed.  Knowing that in the game that there can be only one winner.  I'm not saying that you go in to fail but I'd like to think that if I got just plain out played I'd award the money to the one that won the game even if they sent me out.  I guess it's how I went out.  If it was like Colton a couple of seasons ago then no way I'd give him the money but if it's how Malcom voted me out then I just got hustled and no hard feelings.

There are players that do that, and I think I could too. Even if say my best ally cut my throat... that is the game and he got me before I got him. There are some though that seem to be "jerks", or cross some sort of line. So yes they out played you, but they are DHs too, and maybe I give the money to someone else. Bottom line is coat tail rider or not, everyone in final 3 either out played, out witted, or out lasted you.

I'm down for the game, and I would like to think my vote would go to who played it better and not who screwed me the least. Who knows?

The KEY is remembering it's a game and not injecting personal feelings.  The people that evoke the hatred (like Russell) have almost made the game personal by rubbing in their victory TOO much.  No one wants to play poker with the guy that is going to rub their nose in every hand they lose...

Kat's problem last season was that she took the people at face value and didn't see it as a game...so she felt betrayed.

But if you see it plain and simple as a game...a game in which it is almost impossible to win without lying at least once...you will be less bitter.

And that is rather hard to do. :D

And it is the length of the game. Not just one day. You eat, sleep, work, and play with these other players for a 2, 3, 4 weeks. People do form bonds in short times when going through shared hardships. So it would be very very hard for something not to get "personal" at some point.... to stay 100% completely objective.... as 90% of the players have shown.

Good point.  It's very rare that a person could win without lying.  I think the only person to do that was maybe Bob the physics teacher with the bowtie in Gabon I think that was it several seasons ago.  He was the quintessential nice guy that finished first.  The other ones lied their way to the top.

The interesting twist to this game (and an important part) is the alliance.

In any other sport, your alliance/team/teammate generally don't cut your throat.  You have to trust your teammate in every other game/sport.  This one, the way to play is to gain trust, then back stab them.  It creates an interesting dynamic.

If everyone was out there "looking out for number 1" and it was a solo game, there wouldn't be the resentment.  (sort of like redemption island - one on one).  It's the team/alliance component and eventual betrayal that makes it interesting.

AND... you do not HAVE to be in any alliance... I mean it is not in the rules... it's just what us social animals do... we clique immediately... just like prison rules.... clique up. But just like prison rules... you can't really trust your clique. Laughing

They should have a show with ex cons... that could be interesting

I'm still trying to figure out why the three guys just didn't keep quiet about the second immunity until Jeff asked if anyone had one, then both guys walk up there.  Their three votes would have been enough to get Phillip out and all the other votes wouldn't have counted.  I know the way it played out is the same in the end but it would have been the biggest blind side to all seven of them.  But the drama factor of the way it played out was awesome, everyone's faces, and the discussion right in the open.

Thats happened a couple times lately... seems like a waste... but then it switches votes. Because they know it won't count, and they want their vote to count for someone they want out. Malcolm skated by a few times last game just because he had it. Nobody voted for him and he kept his idol several plays. So yes a blind side could work out, but so can other things. They obviously could have sent Philip home if that is all they wanted, but maybe they wanted to see who would vot with them, and they did find out some one did... so that person might "switch".

Thanks, I've taken the last couple seasons off and just happen to setup the DVR for this season.  That tribal had so many possible plays, double plays, no plays.  Game on.

Exactly... and I have no illusion things happen as spontaneously or organic as it may seem. The players know a LOT more about what is going on than us, and they have 24/7 to talk to each other instead of the 1 hour show we watch. For what ever reason they end up doing things, I doubt we know all the info behind those decisions.

To get them to turn on each other and create a paranoia.  It didn't work like they wanted where everybody turned on Phillip and Andrea but it looked like it from the editing.  In the end they all followed Phillip off the cliff.  We'll see what happens next week if it was a one shot deal or not.  It seems the stealth r us alliance wasn't considering final 3 yet.  They were just working on getting rid of the 3 amigos and not having a plan b or c.  Now they are confronted with a reality that their ring leader is gone and who to target next?  Do I go by loyalty or do I take who I think I can beat in the end?

Well, they didn't KNOW it but they could have saved the idol Malcolm played because Eric did turn.  Eric tried to hint to them with his "save one of them if you can" comment, but I guess it wasn't enough to give Malcolm a warm fuzzy that he could hold his idol.

Does anyone think Phillip was REALLY ringleading or do you think StealthRUs was just LETTING him THINK he was ringleading????  I mean, if they were just playing him then none of them really had anything to lose by switching their vote to Phillip so I'm surprised more didn't.

and to think...when Richard Hatch tried to get people to vote in a voting block (aka alliance) in Season 1 they thought he was crazy...and many of them said that they were going to vote for the person they wanted to see gone and not who anyone else wanted them to vote for....back in the first season of innocence.....

Some like Dawn saw him as in charge.  Everytime she heard something she would go and tell Phillip same with Sherri.
