Work has definitely affected my training, so I am going into this one just trying to get through it and focus in on nutrition. I have heard it a really pretty down there, so really can't wait to get there. Driving down with my niece tomorrow night. Kind of cool to that a couple of my tri teammates are doing the race as well. Here is our bike route ... nice challenge

I have triathlon #1 in my life Sunday - Monticelloman Olympic. I'll still be a rookie Monday morning, just not quite as much of one as I am now. Do I also recall Larkin is racing this weekend too? |

It is a B race so I am not to worried but it is my first race. Good luck Matt! I actually wish I could go volunteer but it is my daughters birthday weekend and we have a bunch of family coming in.kaburns1214 - 2013-05-01 1:15 PMOn nicer thoughts -- off the top of my head I know Chris and Jen are racing this weekend -- anyone else? Swim slightly above your all day pace. Let your HR recover on the bike a bit, and start to build. At about 1/3rd of the way through the bike take a gel and drop the hammer. 1 bottle on the bike. On the run start out fast and continue to push as long as possible. Take in sports drink at every aid station. |

I'm very pleased with my progress in the pool. Huge improvement from last year. Even better than the improvement is the fact that I love swimming more and more each day |
