leopard8996 - 2011-06-09 7:46 AM That's hilarious! I'm hoping to have the 1st part of my HB Taper project done this weekend so that will give you all something to focus on while we wait for the #s to be revealed next week. In other news my official job title for the 2011 IM CDA will be: Honey Badger Hunter Because the only thing fierce enough to go toe to toe with the HB is the person who plans to slay the HB

Next week?!?  So you mean I should stop compulsively refreshing the IMCdA checking to see if numbers are up?

Yeah based on 2007 and 2008 dates it looks like #s come out 10 days before the race which is next Thursday. I'll start obsessively checking starting Monday

No wonder it's slow when I'm compulsively refreshing!

My bet is next Monday.  They put them out on the 15th last year.  I don't know why it's so slow for IMCDA. IMSG got their's about 20 days out this year.

Yeah, Glutony is almost over and now it is time for us to clean up our nutrition. But, it does not mean that we have to give up the extra kCals entirely.

I suspect that many of us could benefit from a few extra pounds on race day.

I just made my reservation through tribiketransport.com. $335, blegh...

Someone tell me this route is far cheaper/easier than flying the bike out myself?

$335?  I'm farther than you and I paid $250 3 months ago.  Is there a "late" fee maybe?

I would say it's worth it. If only because my good friend flew her bike in a solid case on Delta and the frame got cracked which meant getting a new bike just 5 weeks before CDA. So TriBike is the only way I'd go that close to an Ironman IMO.

Easier for sure, and safer for your bike.

The problem with the airlines these days is you never know what charge they are going to spring on you unless you spend a lot of time reading the fine print and bring a printout with you to argue it.

Just finished an awesome tempo run on our trail here in PDX and came across a snake! My 1st thought was Honey Badger loves snakes, maybe I should chase it

I paid $300 a couple of months ago to ship from San Diego.  Ease of mind = totally worth the cash.

Same here, $300 with pickup @ Nytro; I think that is also the price two of my training partners paid.

In my world, spotting wildlife on a run is good luck.

Snakes, Bobcats, Dolphins, Whales, Sea Lions and Coyotes are actually pretty common here.

Not sure about a Honey Badger but I suspect I might come across one or two in CdA while I am there and that would definitely be good luck.
