Well we are close - my bike shipped yesterday - I am sorting thru my gear today -

I said this before but.... While you are in the water before the gun no matter where you are (treading with the fast guys or hanging off the pier with me) take a dive and check out the scene. 5 thousand legs kicking in anticipation is very cool, the deeper the better.

We'll definitely be taking a dive down! I wish I could take the GoPro with me...

I too am doing IM Cozumel...it will be my first full distance Ironman...I am physically ready...and nearly mentally ready...my tiny uncertainty remains in the swim portion of the event.  I have been having panic attacks in open water lately but I think I have pushed past those...time will tell and I am hoping for a good swim and a great day.  I plan on going out to the swim venue both Friday morning and Saturday morning practice swims to "aclimate" to the water.

So excited.  Anyone else staying at the Melia?

This time (8:03AM) next week I'd be ready to get "atta" water, thirsty, and smiling my way to a long day! Super excited, anyone else?

Does anyone know how TriBike Transport works?  I don't have a car or any way of getting my bike around...will they be at T1 for pickup and T2 for drop off?  Also after finishing what is everyones' plan for getting back to their hotel?  I am hearing that the roads going north (which is of course where I am staying at the Melia) are pretty much closed...and the thought of walking 4 miles after an Ironman sounds rough.

Ever-important pre-race mani/pedi....check!! With a special twist this time:

Going out for a 6ish mile run, then packing!! 12 hour work day tomorrow (ugh), slacking as much as I can on Tuesday (and hoping I can get in a spin class/run brick), then flying out Wednesday morning!! A week from now at this time, I'll be (hopefully) getting close to the end of the bike! Wow.

Love the toe art! My daughter did my thumb nails in the same design before IMTX in May. Looking forward to IMCoz with the right amount of fear and apprehension. Looking more forward to laying on the beach for a week afterwards recovering!!

Ha! I lost no weight during training (eating like a horse may have had something to do with that) but I did notice that everything shifted around. I'm leaner and more toned from the waist up, and my pants are all tight in the thighs now, but that's all cycling muscle, so it's all good!

Jealous of your ocean swim! There has been NO open water swimming here in Ohio for a while, and of course all we have are dirty green lakes and a scary toxic river anyway!

Going for my pre-race pedi on Wed...will have the Mdot on my toes too...looking forward to seeing everyone out there.  So excited for this race.  Thanks for the info on TBT...I guess we will have to ride our bikes from the convention center down to T1?  Is that what everyone else is doing?

. ..... I can't say I have lost weight, if anything I gained and all in the wrong places. Little training and eating like if I was training 30 hrs a week. Oh well.... My last OWS was back in August at a lake but I am sure the ocean swim will be a hell of a lot better than my last two IM races- all in the toxic waters you talked about- I still believe a lot of the athletes that got sick during the race was due to swallowing too much of the Ohio river....

Hi Jennifer,I don't know how far is your Hotel from T1 but If it is north of T2, you are looking more than a few miles. I am taking the hotel bus or taxi when I pick the bike from TBT.....

I can imagine!! I did one tri in the Ohio River and I didn't get sick afterwards, but it smelled kinda funky and I took a very long shower after. I got the flu soon after doing an OWS in a local green lake over the summer. My last OWS was in Lake Erie, at Rev3CP. They cancelled the swim portion of the sprint tri the day before due to unsafe water conditions and it was still pretty choppy for Rev3. I think I've cured myself of my former fear of open water but I did start feeling woozy out there.
