Slugger - 2008-12-03 2:52 AM Wally, totally a sign (set of signs). I'm BIG into signs. Go with it, if it works. I'd say just relax at this point and focus on your kids and training - it sounds like that was the biggest sign of all, to lay off relationships altogether!

Wally....I completely agree with Slugger....focus on the kids and you and your training....that is the sign you are getting!

No problem.

I want to run a marathon in May but don't know if I am willing to commit to training for it!  It's a huge time commitment for me with Bryan being gone so much, I am not sure I can do the long runs with the kiddos.  I need to decided soon!

Those of you with kids, when about did you start letting them stay home by themselves? and watching the younger ones?

I only have one kid....but, I started brief periods of about 1 hour home alone when he was 11 years old....he is now 14 years old and stays home alone for school days off, etc....I gave him a key to the house last year (starting in middle school) for him to come inside after school.....he still has to call me as soon as he gets home....then he walks the dogs, eats a snack and does homework until I get home from work.

ebshot - 2008-12-03 1:17 PM I'm back from the grocery store.  Who wants to come over and put it all away?

I hate the grocery store!  Seems I can never get out of there without having to spend an arm and a leg.

No kidding!  It is crazy!  I hate to spend so much money each time I go!  All just to eat all the food and have to go again in a week or so.

I have a teenage boy....talk about spending alot of money at the grocery store....OMG....he is a human garbage disposal!!!!! <img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/surprise.gif'>

*sigh* four more years to wait.  Course it's not like I could leave Alex with the boys, they would never listen to her!

I don't look forward to that!  As it is my boys eat us out of house and home.  I can't imagine what it will cost to feed them in 10 years!  Yikes!

Edited cause I messed up the quotes but can't figure out how to fix it!

The training is a huge commitment of time and energy....the marathon itself is the easy part!....my first two marathons were in the late fall which meant the bulk of my training was in the heat....I really do not run well in the heat..... so I decided to do a June marathon which would make most of my training in the lovely spring weather!.....you should do it, Erica!

Good workouts for me today. A little swimming, a little biking, and a little yoga. Too bad none of those are what I picked for this challenge

Oh and I had something really weird happen while at the pool.  Midway through my swim another guy hopped into my lane - which is fine, I justed moved to one side.  He was heading directly down the middle though and I'm thinking "wow he's gonna ram me."  At the last second he goes under the lane divider into the next lane and continues to swim there.  He kept popping back and forth between lanes to avoid passing by the person in the lane.  I wanted to tell him it was ok just keep to one side I wouldn't mind, but I really didn't want to break my rythym.

Watching him dodge back and forth was quite bizarre really

Just got back from a lovely walk to the grocery store on iced/snowed over sidewalks.  I have a hard enough time keeping my balance on dry ground let alone slick pavement with a couple sacks of groceries in my arms.  Man, I missed that

Yes, although there were a few times last month where I would find I was talking to myself.

I do talk to myself a lot, although I have to admit it'll be a little different posting it for all to see. There are some strange things that run though my mind from time to time

I talk to myself a lot too! I don't seem to mind posting it though!

I don't mind it either. It's rather entertaining sometimes

chartierm22 - 2008-12-03 1:28 PM So now that you are all stocked up again, whats for lunch and more important (cuz I already ate lunch) whats for dinner?
Well, my lunch was a Turkey Club with a beer at a local pub type place. Ate with a couple co-worker friends (females - married) who were interested in my long relationship saga. Their advice: STAY THE H3LL AWAY FROM THOSE WOMEN!! Seems to be the general consensus.

Beer with lunch. I knew there was a reason I liked you

ebshot - 2008-12-03 10:20 AM I'm hungry. What's everyone having for lunch?

I just had Special K Chocolatey Delight for breakfast Lof that stuff.

I made homemade vegetable beef soup last night, so that'll be my lunch

Have not tried that cereal. I'm stuck on Cherrios Cruch stuff at the moment. For a mid day snack I like to do equal parts (1/2 C) frozen blueberries, vanilla yogurt and the cherrios cruch stuff and mix it all up. YUM, kind of like a parfait thing. Helps with my sweet tooth.

I tried the Special K with strawberries, but they looked like scabs to me. Couldn't eat them.

Aw, I love the Special K Red Berries. Now I have to fight off the image of scabs when I eat it The Special K Vanilla Almond is seriously the best cereal I've ever had. When I was training a lot, I would eat it every night before bed. Yummy. Can't wait to be able to do that again.
