grdavison - 2009-02-24 7:52 PM So decided to downgrade my ambition from jumping into halfs and just stick with the sprints for now.. hating running hasn't been helping me so i figured i better stick small for now and do what works for me :D

Nothing wrong with that.  I plan to focus on the shorter stuff this year.  I started with a bunch of Oly's my first year and only did an HIM on a wing and prayer in Nov. of that first year.  I wasn't prepared, but figured I could tough it out.

hagakure - 2009-02-24 8:05 AM 3rd day in a row off. I woke this morning with a bit of a twinge in my back so I'm taking it easy.

Backs are not something to mess around with.  I tweaked mine bad in college and couldn't do anything without it killing me for about a year...  Sucked.

Give it some rest and if it still bothers you, for sure see a doctor, or at least a chiropractor.

It feels okay today. Think a couple of days off has done me good. I'm planning an easy run tonight if I still feel good.

Hopefully, daylight savings in a couple weeks will give everyone that extra boost.  Time enough to get a run or bike in during the daylight after work.

That will do a lot to help get me more motivated. Once the weather turns a bit more, it'll get alot easier to get out there too.

Swim + bike time today!

I need a *little* more motivation. I'm almost there like I was last year, I think once DST hits I'll shift up a gear. Soccer season starts next week, so that's a plus too.

Woot.

Just back from my first ride on my tri bike since last September. Did a 10 mile TT. I'm quite pleased with how it went as it is windy. Managed to average 18.9mph despite wind. Can't wait for race season

Good swim yesterday. Gotta either find some time in between rain showers to run, or head down to the aquatic center and use the dreadmill they have...

Happy monday everyone!

I'm trying to treat today as "a new start" and get refocused on training and weight loss...  I have been slacking a bit in both the last couple weeks.

It could be because we have great weather this week.  I hope it stays...

I think I might have turned a small corner yesterday. Thirty minute run, still felt really fresh afterward, even though I was working to stay warm.

Swim and bike today.

Woot.

well, after nearly drowning 3 times in the pool last night, i have come to determine that a month with not going to the pool was a foolish foolish move. Oh well, i hope it all comes back soon as i hate the taste of chlorinated water. On a better note, i did my 3 mile easy run before the pool, and i was hardly breathing and feeling great after the run, much different than just 6 months ago, when i could not go 100 yards without being gassed.

Do you all now have 19 pages in this thread or has something gone wrong with my settings? I'm only getting 17 responses per page now????? Not that it really matters, just strange.

Good run today. I did a LT test. My LT has increased from 165bpm to 168bpm since last summer. I need to sleep badly now after the run.

I was hoping to get a free LT test soon, but I didn't qualify fo rthe study. Probably b/c I was eating like a horse the week after my race, and 3 days before the blood draw...

Brick yesterday. Felt good after, tired this morning. Shenanigans at 5:30 had NOTHING to do with it, I'm sure...

Weather seems to be warming up. I think we change the clocks this weekend too. Stopped by the LBS and put a few more bucks down on the new ride. Should be picking it up by next month.

Tried out a new running top yesterday, love it. Best part? Paid $20 shipped to my door. Win.

I might have found my first sprint tri of the season, 4/25. Woot.

My first race is 05/03. Wish it was sooner although I do need to get in some open water swimming before the season starts.
