They can't type worth a damn, either! ![]() |

Question is, anyone have trouble with the ir skin/hair getting really dried out and knackered from too many showers. If so any solutions etc. I have! But I'm not sure if it's due to too many showers!/? I believe if you hydrate, and use lotion, it should mostly subside. Remember, now that you're training harder, your cells are working harder too, that includes your skin, and it is also due to the elements (i.e. wind). Personally, I carry a 1-liter bottle with me and fill it up with water 3-4x/day. Trust me, it really helps with keeping dry skin at bay, as well as keeping satiety levels high. Give it a try. ![]() |

I did Latin for 6 weeks, our teacher was about 104 and served us Baileys in mouldy mugs. Amo, amas, amat, amabo, amabis, amabat - eek, that was almost 30 years ago and I remember. It's a made up language do to economic strife, poor education, with an ethnic background. Basically, poor man's english for Americans. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Cead_Mille_Failte - 2009-03-22 1:25 PM Hey Skinnies! Great news - Ireland won 6 Nations!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! And we won the Grand Slam which and we won the Triple Crown!!!!!!!!!! So as you can imagine 99% of the population is hangover today. Not so great news - with being sick and for thw last 1,5 weeks and simply lazy for the remaining half the week I put on weight A LOT! The laziness was killing me especially that we've had absolutely beautiful weather for the last few days and this inlcudes actual sunshine (guess that's our summer) so I really can't understand why all I wanted to do was sit on the grass in the sun and read my books. Anyway, decided to put a stop to it and hope running with my group tomorrow will help. Also I decided to try working out in the mornings even though I know it's easier for me in the afternoons BUT a lot of times I'm simply tired after all day long in UL and all I wanna do is go home and stretch out on the sofa. With the increasing chance of nice weather as we're approaching proper spring and summer there's bound to be lots of sitting outside (or under a canopy if it's warm but puring buckets) and drinking beer. Calories issues aside for now I'm more likely to chose spending a summer evening with my friends rather than go training. Also if I have to stay late at the University I won't skip my training. And finally, a morning workout supposedly gives you a lot of energy for the day. That sounds reasonable right? So my question is to those who do workout in the mornings or know people who do - what do you eat before you go training? I know that I can't eat anything big 1,5-2hrs before running otherwise I'll die - same thing applies to swimming. SO if I want to go running at say 7.30 does that mean I should eat at 6am? Because if that's the case then I'm not sure I'll be up for it. I'm barely conscious as it is at 7am and all I can consume is coffee. So any ideas or advice? I used to do morning workouts (7-8am), and I would eat a pretty good b'fast mostly proteins and fruit, but I would eat 2 hours before training, so I wouln't hurl it on the treadmill. Egg-white omelette, a banana, maybe some toast, and a glass of oj. Just remember that it's always a good idea to eat after training too. Within 45 min of training, drink a protein shake or protein in some form. This helps with protein synthesis (muscle repair/building), and the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. |

I have run 8-13 miles without eating and survived. Normally my early workouts are 3-5 AM and there is no way I am eating that early. Well 13miles is not exactly in my range so I think I'm gonna be fine without any breakfast. Just wanted to check something here - do you actually train at 3am? As in at night when I'm turning from side to side snoring happily in my bed? I used to do those too, but that's when I was on the P90X trip. It's actually really tiring, and helps keep your melotonin in balance, though I've heard you shouldn't workout before you sleep. It has, however, always been able to give me better sleep, from just being tuckered out. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great news... Grades are in, and though I didn't get my 4.0, I'm happy with the straight B's. It could've been a lot worse! Also, I graduated with one of my degrees. And now I get a second degree with just one more class. Secondly, the scale has been really kind to me lately. This morning was at 187.6, so still sub-190, despite my little binge last night. Had two helpings of spaghetti, 2 slices of lasagna, a piece of garlic toast, a bowl of Navy Bean soup, a bunch of protein water and I was still hungry when I went to bed. Now all I have to do is get back to the gym! |

Dingo's are more of a feral dog, Whereas the coyote is a cousin of the Wolf. Supposedly coyote's behavioral learning is much better then a dog. |

I have great news - it was the crucial council meeting tonight and they voted to open my old gym as a council facility, yahoo. I'm so pleased that people power can really work and that we turned the council numbers around from 13-0 against to 8-5 for, it's been a hard fight over the last 16 months but I'm stoked we got there. Not looking forward the weigh-in tomorrow as I've given into the munchies a lot this week, toast, it's just such a weakness, with lashings of butter and jam. |

Overall a good day so far apart from my blood tests. Now I went to the Student Health Centre and met the same doctor who recommended the tests. Unfortunately, little did I know it's gonna turn into somewhat horryfing experience. She was ready to go, needle went and..... nothing happens- no blood coming out. She couldn't find my vein for a while and was fiddling the needle inside my arm. That was the moment when I thought I'm gonna collapse! Finally she managed to find a vein so I should get the results next week. Daisy- great news re gym! |

Not traumatising or anything just they seem to find it hard to find a vein here too. Last time i went for a blood test they took 4 vials :|Where do you go swimming at 6.30? is the pool open that early?! I have gone back to me parents house for easter , which means i've had to sign up for another gym which has less equipment and generally of lower quality, and its only like 3 quid cheaper than the one i go to at uni |

Dingo's were domesticated at one point, while Coyotes, have always been wild, not to mention they were not introduced as an invasive species. However, in a manner of speaking, yes they are similar, being opportunistic scavenger/hunters. |

As you've obviously done really well this qtr, the important thing is to get those study skills down, so that future qtrs aren't as hard (or at least the only obstacles are your ability to soak in the information, then spit it back out). Are you doing any online classes? If not, I would check into it to see if they offer any. I found that they are so much easier, and might help quell your feelings of anxiety about future qtrs. When I started back in Fall of 07, I was taking nothing but on-line classes, and kept up a 3.9 GPA for nearly two years. That's how easy they are! Congrats to you too! ![]() |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow! it's been 16 months already...? I could have sworn it was just last summer when you told us about it closing? It only closed in in December but we knew about it from the previous November - they'd given the place a year to run down and for the members to drift off to other gyms. Most of them didn't and about 1400 people went through the doors on the last morning. It's been awful trying to fit all those people into the surrounding facilities; my gym is bursting at the seams and I've friends who've turned up for classes and been turned away because it's full. Volleyball Western Australia has ground to a halt as they've nowhere to hold tournaments. Should open again in June after a big refurbishment. |
