And now I have Plantar Fasciitis. Guess PF are my set of initials too. Fortunately, I haven't needed to think about ACL replacement. Ow ow ow! Just reading that hurts. geauxtri - 2009-11-04 11:18 AM kcarroll - 2009-11-04 9:13 AM Hi Heather! Curiousity... can I ask what you did to YOUR knee to cause PT? For me it's an ACL replacement this summer. I have what's called Patella-Femoral syndrome. Occasionally my patella gets off track causing pain/swelling. According to the orthopod, it's caused by imbalance in strength of quads and hamstrings. Even when it's not irritated, it can twinge a little going down stairs. Not up, just down. I should be doing strength training year round, but I'm really bad about it. Funny thing, I had really bad plantar fasciitis a couple years ago. The joke is I only have issues that have the initials PF. BTW, stretching and good orthotics fixed that PF> ACL replacement takes a long time to recover from. Good luck. Agreed. I've been cringing through the last few posts *Cringing toppage* Edited by disturbed275 2009-11-04 12:00 PM |

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I went for a run at the gym this morning. First one since September 30th!!! Wow, am I SLOW! But, I got it done and I can't wait for the next one on Friday. Congrats on getting back on the road! After a month I bet it felt good just to be out there Thanks! It was a treadmill, but still, I was happy. Starting to train again has made me feel a lot better emotionally. I feel really happy today after running. |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Gabbing Gobblers - November Challenge Hello Team! Welcome KimK! I've been spending the morning making up CDs for a friend's 60th birthday. I love the 60s & 70s music......well actually I love it all! Made a Woodstock disc, Motown disc, Rock Out disc (Stones, Zepplin, Steppenwolf etc) and Hanging Out disc (Beatles, Paul Simon etc). The party is Saturday and we are going in 60s attire. Should be yet another occasion to embarass the hell out of the teenage children!! |

In my case, action (ie: eating it) follows the temptation.... disturbed275 - 2009-11-03 6:46 PM D001 - 2009-11-03 6:35 PM disturbed275 - 2009-11-03 6:59 PM Not here. I had chicken and leftover Halloween candy. LOTS of leftover Halloween candy.... iowagander - 2009-11-03 4:50 PM Good afternoon Gobblers! We finally won a softball game!!! We were shorthanded today, but actually played our best ball of the season. I celebrated with a little over 3 miles and my first ST session of the month. I also introduced my sore right leg/hip flexor the the foam roller, which I can confirn does indeed hurt like hell. My leg does feel better though, so I'll keep giving it a try. Now I just need to figure out dinner. I'm thinking tilapia with some kind of steamed veggies... Have a good night all! Great minds think alike. Tilapia and veggies was the meal of choice here too You probably should have place Halloween candy first in that sentence since it was the majority of your meal. For instance, I had Halloween candy for dinner and a little itty bit of chicken. I'd just like to make a statement to all the leftover Halloween candy of the world: Damn you, and damn the tempting nature with which you sit on my counter beckoning for me to eat you. That is all. Good point Dee. I probably should have been more specific there When I got home from work, a Heath bar just jumped into my mouth before I could do anything about it. And then so did a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. And then a Take 5. I hope they had the decency to unwrap themselves first Yes they did. Sadly, it was the last thing they did with their short, delicious little lives. |

It's a good thing I'm training for a half mary right now... Starbucks has their eggnog latte again. I love them and am trying my hardest to resist! I'm thinking that may be a good way to treat myself after long runs. I normally don't do foo-foo coffee, but the eggnog latte is soooo good... |

I skipped over to Q3 on Monday because it was longer. Will do Q1 Thursday. I always have a playlist for the rides. I can post them if anyone is interested.... The intervals are always tough. Especially for me right now because I'm just coming back to training after surgery. I know it's good for me, though. I have a tendency to just stick with an easy pace that I like and call it good. I'd love to see your playlists! I'm working on making a few and then I'll post mine. If anyone has a good playlist for running, I'm interested in seeing them. |
