Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulie eliptical v ST November challenge II Ghoulies!!! Today was probably one of the proudest I've had as a mom. My son ran the 5k turkey trot this morning. He used my race belt, and I let him wear my Garmin, too. There were a couple of hundred people there, it was bigger than the 5k I did a few weeks ago. Lots of people were signing up this morning yet, too. The race was actually late getting started because of all the people still signing up. My husband ran with him. My friend/half marathon partner ran along with her two boys. My son's time was 40:01. When he saw it he was disappointed. I reassured him that he did a great job though. The best part is he said he'd like to run another one, maybe in the spring to see if he can do better. He said he wants to do some training in the spring so he's better prepared. I told him I would run with him whenever he wanted to go. Here are some photos of everyone this morning. Then we went down near the finish when runners started coming back. We stood there and clapped for everyone as they headed to the finish line. I was so excited to see them coming down the last street I got a little teary eyed. He was tired when we got home, he's back watching TV in my bedroom now. I made everyone a big brunch when we got home. It really was a great morning. I was disappointed I couldn't run with everyone, but I would glady Sherpa for that crew again.aspeelma - 2009-11-26 10:06 AM Ghoulies!!! Today was probably one of the proudest I've had as a mom. Now turkey is cooking and everything is well under way for this afternoon. Stepdaughters and their husbands are coming over ... way fun. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulie eliptical v ST November challenge II We went to my parents last evening for dinner. I ate turkey and a few biscuits. Yep, there was turkey, a beef roast, corn, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy, and all I ate was turkey and biscuits. My daughter sits at the end of the table next to me, she gets the big plate, I get the smaller one. Did I forget to mention that I also had a piece of chocolate pie? Mmmmmm It was good! |

In the spring there are lots of 5k's around here, and some kids 1 mile fun runs. I hope he does some more. My mom was telling me that friends of hers went out to see their son race IMAZ. She said he's been doing triathlons for awhile but he wasn't happy with this swim. He was complaining about the crowd, and the mass start and such. She said he told them it really threw off his whole race, that he had thought about quitting. My son says "the finish line or an ambulance ride, that's the only way out, right mom?" I had to laugh at that! |
