Hey Ghoulies! Thanks for the laughs while I caught up this evening. 2 days in the books for February, and well into 16 pages. Go Team!

There is no way I can go back and reply to everything I found interesting, but here are a few thoughts:

Kim: Awesome suit! I also think those swim caps sound sweet. Can't wait to see some race pics with one of them featured.

Bill: Great pics from around Buffalo. Also, good call on the "Kiss my argh." Can't wait to hear how that one goes over! Also, what's the idea for your tattoo? Do you have a sketch?

Stacie: Funny how we did the same workout today. Must have been a good day for 3 miles and some light ST. Also, rockin necklace!

Ann: If you don't feel comfortable being the Toppage Queen, I think the Toppage Jester is a suitable substitute. Way to keep the pages rolling.

Melindy: You are psychotic. Plain and simple. How you fit so much into your day ON TOP of medical school and still manage that much sleep is beyond me. You're my hero!

Jules: I cringed when I read about your crash and the damage to your bike. I am just thankful that you are OK. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better today, and I hope this cold is no big deal. Get well!

Robin: How you can resist napping with your bed staring at you all day while you work is remarkable. Your work ethic must be outstanding!

Neal: I wanted to do RAGBRAI the whole time I was in college but I didn't have a bike and I had to be in school full time in the summer. If you can do it, go for it! Maybe GU can invent a beer or pie flavored gel to help you get through IMMOO a little easier.

Amy: Have a blast in DisneyLand. I got to take the kids in August and had a great time. Make sure you log your walking, because there is PLENTY of that in your near future!

If there's anyone/anything I missed, I'm sorry. I hope everyone is having a good week so far, and hopefully I will be able to contribute to the banter a bit tomorrow. Have a good night all!

You guys have a great evening.  I am going for a ride then meeting the family at the church skate night!

Be Ghoulish out there!

See ya Bill.

I too am going. Gonna start a dinner that would have Ann's family gagging... Spaghetti squash with marinara and meatless meat balls (that is just funny). YUM

have fun all

Can I come over????? That sounds terrific!

I'm finally getting a chance to catch up and I see one of my favorite meals!

But ours was pretty good too.  New turkey crockpot recipe with corn and asparagus on the side.  And spinach, lettuce, mushroom, tomato salad to start!

ironannekidd - 2010-02-02 3:57 AMI will get together a list of the music I have tonight. I got side tracked this weekend with the kiddos and typing papers for the fourth grade.

Every year in the elementary school the kids write stories then the school prints them out and binds them into books for the kids. Because of my job I don't really get to go into the school much to volunteer but I can type. So I volunteered to type up the stories the kids have written. It took longer than I thought, mainly because of they way the pages are formatted, and also because it is REALLY hard to read some of the kids handwriting.

I'm done for now. I'll be working on second grade papers soon. I can't wait to try and read that handwriting. One of the worst ones I saw though was from my own son. I had to have him translate several words for me. Guess what I've been having him work on this week.... yeah, he's been practicing his handwriting.
I have a second grade son, too. I can relate to the need for translation. The new problem at our house: he thinks he can write in cursive, if he just practices. Around here, they don't teach cursive until 3rd grade.

I think they start it here in second grade. The stories I typed were printed but there were lots of misspellings and punctuation errors, plus sometimes they just didn't make sense. I was given liberty to help them along anyway I saw fit. As someone who used to write short stories I did just that.

I worked on the music list but didn't get it completed. 200 CD's plus 1300 songs in iTunes takes longer than one expects. I'm still working on it though.

ironannekidd - 2010-02-02 11:00 AMI'm going to end up making 2 different meals at my house. I eat chicken, a lot. The husband and kids eat a lot of starches. Most nights, for them, dinner is meat of some sort, corn and mashed potatoes.

I have tried to get them to eat other things but they are resistant to change. They will eat peas, carrots, or green beans if I make them. We just don't have as much of those things as we have corn.

We live on a farm, we grow a lot of our own veggies. We also butcher our own meat. I don't buy beef or pork, only my chicken.
Oh man, if you just lived closer, I'd buy a side of beef from you! I HATE buying it at the store--I even bought a freezer so I could buy local---but I haven't found anywhere out here yet.

I only ever buy beef or pork near the end of fall when we have run out. The home grown stuff tastes SOOOOO much better than the stuff in the store. We used to butcher a lot more, sell it to people who wanted but it got to be too time consuming. One year every week for 12 weeks we were cutting up meat. No one was happy about that. My FIL has started selling it to people and they're responsible for cutting it themselves, most take it to a butcher shop. Last year he sold 2 whole cows, he trailered them to the butcher shop for the people. LOTS LESS WORK FOR US!

I hope you can find someplace!

We just bought a 1/2 of a 1/2 from a friend and I have some yankee pot roast sitting at home in a crockpot for dinner and lunch the rest of the week!

I made t-bones on the grill last night. I had chicken though. We eat steak pretty often. I'm not a big fan of a roast.

skrtrnr - 2010-02-02 4:32 PM AFTERNOON GHOULIES.

woo hoo on your nice three miler TOM.   must have been the day for em cuz that's what i did too....along w an itty bitty strength training session.

i did get out and ATTEMPTED to buy some clothes.

i swear im the WORST clothes buyer person.

i stand and look and look and stand.

i see stuff that looks good in the store only to bring it home, try it on, and hate how it looks on me.  [i dont like to try it on in the store....]

i'll be taking 3/4s of what i bought back to the store.  BAH!  typical for me.

ive been trying to 'soften' my look...ive been getting a lot of feedback lately that i have that 'athletic' look which is fine...when im at the Y, but when im out and about, im not sure thats the impression that im after.

but what with my uber fab KICK AZZ haircut and some new glasses, im not sure i can/want to get away from that 'edgier' side of me.

CAN WE ALL SAY STACIE'S TRYING TO FIND HERSELF???

ive always had this artistic/creative/divergent side of my personality and for lots of reasons, i put that aside for a look that was more 'maternal'/practical.

what mom shows up at church nursery with a nose ring?  LOL.

but....as much as i tried, i just couldnt bring myself to keep the things that i bought that were on the softer side.

i DID fall in love with this spectacular necklace (will post pics) and a form fitting long sleeved shirt that shows off my....

SWIMMERS ARMS

i dunno.

i guess im just finding myself is all.

that said, any of the GHOULIES want to meet up with me on my next shopping spree.

we could that, you sit outside the dressing room and i parade in front of you, wearing a gazillion different outfits and you can give me a two thumbs up or a two thumbs down.

OH STACY.....OH CLINTON WHEREFORART THOU STACY AND CLINTON.

LOL.
stacieb

Umm... I can park the car or carry bags. I'm not even allowed to pick out clothes for myself so I don't think I'm allowed to help anyone else. 2 years ago I went out to CA to visit my sister for her birthday. We went shopping and she'd just hand me stuff and tell me I was buying it, too girly for me. If you want girly clothes take her.

Last year, for my birthday, I was down 2 sizes and my favorite person in the world took me shopping. She'd hand me things and make me try them on, I don't usually do that. Her picks were more my style though.

I used to go baggy, trying to hide the fat, which of course baggy only made it worse. Neither of them would let me go baggy. I used to wear men's jeans, too. They were just more comfortable. Now my Levi's are women's.

If ya got the swimmers arms, then SHOW 'EM!!!

anticipating a FANTABULOUS day today!

hoping to catch up w a friend over coffee

and get some much needed work done for Joseph this AM.

then heading up to the Y for a short swim

then back down to meet a friend for lunch.

WOO!

and btw, im gonna look SMOKIN' doin it all.  sometimes its just nice to ditch the tri gear, put on makeup, do your hair and get dressed up

i found this uber cool, 'floaty' vest thingy at American Eagle of all places (perfect size, perfect shade) that goes over my form fitting shirt, just to 'soften' things up a bit all the while remaining 'edgy'

i think i just might be finding myself.
