Fun times in the Village yesterday. I snortled and giggled reading it.
Thanks Ghoulies, the laugh was good indeed

ironannekidd - 2010-04-01 8:32 AM Ghoulies I may need a kick of my own here soon.

I just can't get my head in the game. The few workouts I have done lately haven't been much, which just makes me feel worse. I just can't find anything right now to make me push myself.

Maybe you don't need a push, maybe you need a carrot.

Reward yourself after a mini goal is reached. That way you don't have to look at the whole picture, just little frames.

mmmmm I love carrots! Actually this is how I look at it too! For me it is just reaching that next goal that does it for me..unless you add buying more fitness clothes!
Or is it truly your body needs a break? I had a bad week a few weeks back (boy does that sound redundant) and cut back on my training and came back the next week with a new little pep! I am feeling great right now! I hope it hangs on through this month (my first race is on the 25th!)

kimk - 2010-04-02 7:35 AM I will double the running....will try on the swim (although I usually do not keep track of distance because I loose track!) and for the bike....I also will do, but I use a spin bike 2x a week and it doesn't track distance. but I have already gotten 30 mi on my RD bike! and 2.5 miles for the run. Have a lovely 9 miles on tap for today! It is supposed to be gorgeous again today! I am thinking I will let the kids ride their bikes and I will run...
going to catch up on all that I missed!

Welcome back Kim!

Good luck with the catching up thing. We were in quite a mood yesterday!

Okay Ghoulies. I am going to start the day. Bike, yardwork, a little seasonal retail therapy, dinner at a friends house.
Enjoy your days.
Oh, yesterdays quetions.
recharging: gatherings with friends, gardening, camping, hiking. haging out in water- lake ocean, sitting on the porch with a sippy drink. reading.
I like my job- I make people clean up hazardous waste spills/ dumps/ accidents. I like where I live- it is pretty close to paradise. If I had a choice I would rather just do the above instead of working at all. I would definatley like to travel more- just about anywhere.

We need to check on Katie and Kendra, too. Then we will know where all the missing K's are.

ironannekidd - 2010-04-01 8:32 AM Ghoulies I may need a kick of my own here soon.

I just can't get my head in the game. The few workouts I have done lately haven't been much, which just makes me feel worse. I just can't find anything right now to make me push myself.

Well Ann(e) as in the immortal words of Red (that 70's show)

How about my size 10.5 up your a$$.  Is that motivating enough for you???

IMHO you are at a point right now where you need a new job and that is taking energy away from your workouts.  You can look at it as a temporary setback that will open new doors with a renewed energy!

I, for one, am looking forward to May for downtime after Iowa.  This has been a long winter of hard training - but I know it has been worth it!

So that leads me to - when is your next race Ann(e)???  Use that for focus!!

I have the PGH HM on May 2nd and Black Bear Oly on May 23rd.

I am super stressed out about my job. I haven't had a decent workout since my hours changed 2 weeks ago. I always feel rushed so I either skip them or don't do as much as I think I should. Before my hours changed I could get an hour and a half workout in before anyone got home. Sometimes I'd still be doing something when the kids got home, but not for long.

I got up so early in the morning so I could get my workouts out of the way without impacting my family too much. My kids are still young, 10 and 6, I can only ask them to sacrifice so much.

I think I'm stressed too because I have PGH coming up in a month and my running isn't where it should be.

My biking isn't what it should be for Black Bear either

Ann, sorry to hear the stress is getting to you.....remember this is supposed to be FUN!!! I so get wanting to do great for a race but with your job change, give yourself a break! As long as you are getting some thing in you will be good! You gave yourself a great base build off of that! I also get the kids thing...I have a 14, 12, 9 and will be 8 on the 24th! Today I will have them bike as I run.... will take them to the park that way if they want to stop riding they can play on the playground and I still get my run in. Take a deep breath...and another...put a smile on your face and know it will all work out!

ceilidh - 2010-04-01 7:58 AM I am off for a bit.

crossing body parts for Ann

Stacie, I think I'll keep my to do list rather than yours for the weekend. I think my kid handling skills these days would involve duct tape. It has been a few years since the young uns were in the house. I have gotten used to it.

HAHAHA..my FIL used to threaten duck tape and a closet with mine when they were younger... they would be soooo well behaved for him!

ironannekidd - 2010-04-01 9:19 AM I'm just off the phone from the interview Ghoulies!

I think it went ok.

I thought it was traveling 2 weeks a month, not thrilled about that, but they told me it was 1 week a month or less. THAT I could do.

I'm hopeful, but I'm still going to apply for the other 4 openings they have.

Glad all went well! Less travel sounds good!

ironannekidd - 2010-04-01 5:01 AM Can you do it Ghoulies!!!

Swim 2.4 miles this month
Bike 112 miles this month
Run 26.2 miles this month

I think that YOU CAN!

Hi everybody.

I should be able to get one with maybe some extra in this month.  I have my sprint this weekend (nervous as all get out!).  Then the rest of my weekends (when I do my longer workouts) this month are pretty busy, but this will give me a goal.

You will do great Dee!
