Dee... time to turn the taser on yourself! Surprised

You must reeeeeeally like me because you put me on both team 2 AND team 3 this month.  I just got a message from Stacie on team 3 asking me to get my butt in gear.  I told her that my heart belongs to team 2.

But which team does your but belong to??

It's now officially ours. Did you want to borrow a taser to help motivate him?

Hmmm, I am as new to the concept of motivational taserings as I am to triathlons... I'll need a few pointers.

Wondering which offers better motivation to pick up the pace: a taser or a big growling dog? Or -- being passed by someone your mother's age?

Been there done that. On a half mary not less. The old guy beat me by over 20 minutes.

Paul... I'm with you on that!  When I did my half mary a few months ago, there was a guy that had to be in is 50's, possibly even 60 or 61 that was running about a 1/4 mile in front of me.  My goal the entire freakin race was to catch this guy.  Try as I might, I never caught him and he finished about 5+ min in front of me.  But that's not the biggest part of the story... the guy was carrying this full-sized American Flag on a 10 foot pole the entire freaking race!!!  The thing had to weigh 50 lbs. and I couldn't catch him!

Last year at my first sprint, there was an 11 year old girl seeded ahead of me on the swim...  I was soo happy when I passed her on the bike.  Back in June a 12 yo boy passed me on the run...  All I could think was  - "Yeah, well try drinking beer and smoking for 20 years and then we'll see how fast you are..."

No witty banter?  Maybe this will help...

Andy, can you please wheel one of these over to my house?

Actually have to bottle some homebrew this weekend, and the Vienna Lager and the Canadian ale will be ready to "test" on Sat!

hey team! Got a good run in today, wish I had taken advantage of my morning off and went longer... but it took me a bit to get going!  Why does it take so much to talk myself into getting out there when I truly love it? Having a hard time having the energy to get my training in.  Once I am in the workout I feel great but after I am just blah....hmmmm I think I need a vacation!

I got a 1 hour drainer ride in this morning.  I watched the Ford IM 70.3 World Championships while I was riding (DVR'd it this weekend).  Very inspiring.  Those pro athletes are freakin machines!

I have a charity 5k run after work today.  After my long run yesterday and overall volume of training, I'm not looking to push it very hard.  Just going to jog it and treat it as a training run.

OK, OK, I say that now, but when I'm out there with 1500 other runners, I'm sure the adrenaline will get pumping.  We'll see...

I have my first big race of the season tomorrow. I'm running the Ragnar relay here in Utah. I hope all goes well. I haven't done any running for the last two weeks with our trip to Mexico and my legs are a little stiff. I may head out for a short run this evening to try to loosen up a little. Plus my feet and ankles are a little swollen. Anyone have a problem with swelling or have any idea what can cause it?

Swollen ankles, huh?  The medical term is called "Kankles" and it's brought on by drinking too much beer and eating too many Big Macs.  Just kidding... I have no idea!  Good luck with the race tomorrow, Paul!
