Definately don't think I'll be a threat to the U.S. Olympic swim team but I think I'm progressing.  I completed 400 yards non-stop this morning.  It was mostly breast stroke but I'm working on it.  Ended up with a 2:38/100 pace.  Followed that by 16x25yard freestyle repeats working on my stroke and a few total immersion drills as well.

I feel like ralph Machio.  "wax on wax off, paint the fence....".  2 weeks ago i moved into a new house.   since then i have been removing wallpaper (that sucks) and painting.   workouts have been lacking, but i can raise my arms up and down with the best of them.

My first tri is a week away (indoor tri). Any advice for the last week of training? They just changed the distances for the bike, but not at all worried.

Was happy with my ride today, considering I haven't been on the bike for over a month, averaged just of 28km for 55km, reasonbly flat ride.  Also had a great long run yesterday, my thighs were sore due to lack of exercise.  My husband is having a nerve block done on Thursday, hopefully this will fix him up although he is finally getting around a bit now after 4 weeks being inactive.

I wonder if that is in any way beneficial for your swim stroke

Just relax and get some rest.  You won't make any gains in the last week so take it nice and easy on your workouts.  I can't wait to hear how it goes for you!

i am going to have to get that from the library.  I just finished "Ultramarathon Man" by Dean karnazes.  I would not call it a good book, but it did make trainer time go by rather quickly.  and it was a little motivating so it was worth it.

Well, the race went well! I was in the 3rd heat, and I finished with a time of 40:04, for the race.  I was the first one out of the pool in my group, finishing 100 yards ahead of the next person. My time was 7:45 for the 500, I was a little concerned about the pace, but in the end it worked out okay.  Transition was slow, but I definitely will improve my time in the future, I just was so excited it was slightly slower than normal.  Bike went well, finished in 16:25. Run went okay too, did well pacing myself. I got passed by one guy in my heat, and he finished 25 seconds ahead of me. I'm okay with it, he said he ran track in college and he was flying!  I had a great time, definitely will be pursuing some more this year! I am hoping for an age group placement, as of now, I am in the #1 spot for 20-29 yrs, and had the 4th fastest time overall. Great day.

Well, I had a hard weekend. I went 5 hours on the bike on Sat.  The weather was bad with winds gusting to about 50-60mph, so I did it all on the trainer. I am guessing that based on my average ride that I would have gone about 85 miles. I have to say that my legs were really sore and painful.
I am now extremely scared for IMSG. I just do not know how Im going to do 6-7 hours on a bike and then run a marathon. This is the first time I have wanted to quit.
Any advice on how to stay motivated, or how to metally get through this we be most welcomed.

Tough few days.  I rode 53 miles Sunday with a few friends.  It was windy but not unmanagable.  Never felt strong from the very start but bonked bad at around the 25 mile mark.  Swam this morning and had pretty much the same results.  Think my body it telling me it is time for a light recovery week to give it a chance to recover.
