papson14 - 2011-02-07 2:28 PM Brielle Eileen was born on February 4 at 2:16 p.m.  She weighed in at 5lbs 11oz and a tiny 17.5 inches.  We weren't expecting here for another couple of weeks but she looks great and was able to come right home.  Rowena is doing great as well.  The other 3 are adjusting well.
Thanks for all the well wishes!

I'll get back to tri training tomorrow but for right now I'm going to continue eating the wrong things and lounging around with the family.  Pizza rolls and 7 layer dip are good nutritional items right????

Fantastic news, congratulations! ... of course we expect a piccie when the time is right

In regards to the diet, perhaps just think of it as carb loading for your endurance training

Hi all, a quicky this time, am I the only one who gets awfully grumpy on the days you don't train? I am finding on my rest days it seems it is my mission to cause mayhem in the household for no good reason. I have my 5 year old telling me to stop being grumpy for goodness sakes! I try to do all my workouts before 7am, but if I do one in the middle of the day like today, again I get narky until it is done. Not naturally an attribute of mine, wonder why it is?

Adam, I am a real beast when I don't train.....which is why Dud is always yelling at me to rest and laughs when I say I needed some sleep.

Adam, I'm not sure I get grumpy, but I definitely spend the day beating myself up...which I guess when I think about it, makes me grumpy Yell

I'm actually usually in a really good mood on non-training days because for me, those days are the days I get a lot accomplished around the farm or the house (things I neglect entirely too much).  This is all by design though.

I will say that days were my plans get foiled so that I don't get to train OR get things accomplished (like if I have to work late or something)...then yeah, those are not pretty days for me!  I also sleep lousy on those days so it can be a vicious cycle!

I'm a grump when I don't train for the day.  Its been so bad my wife has kicked me out of house on those days.

Rest is as important as the training.   Without it you just damaging muscles.    A times you may need a couple days to recover.

Here ya go.

I'm pretty good on days off, however, if we have plans on a training day I get grumpy as the day goes along because I know how hard it is to get the training done late in the day.

We haven't had a Question of the Day for a while so I' tossing out a two parter.....Need to know the definition to part one to answer part two!

What is cross chaining?  Why is it bad?

Being in the big chainring in front and the easiest (inside cog) ring in the cassette.....or small chainring and the outside cassette cog.  Doesn't allow the chain to remain straight and ends up destroying the chain.

isn't cross chaining when you do more than one sport with a lisp?

I agree, Brielle is just beautiful!!  Congrats!

I totally read 'cross chaining' as 'cross training' and I was really concerned that it was considered to be bad!  I think I need more coffee.

Oh, we had babies born recently too - these two (one girl, one boy) were born yesterday:

Not nearly as good looking as Brielle - but still cute and WAY less work for us.
