"I'm stuck in traffic, FML"... no. You're still better off than most people, your life does not suck. It's a minor inconvenience. If it's something within your control, change it. If it's out of your control, you can't change it, so stop worrying/complaining about it. Louis CK has a good bit about this. Someone has been reading The Art of Happiness by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. BTW: that is a mantra I try to live by. Easier said than done, but something I continue to try to keep in mind. Actually, never read it, just how I live my life. Yes, sometimes it is difficult, but I find that, in general, I am a MUCH happier person than most of my colleagues and friends, and I attribute it solely to this motto. Kinda puts the mind at ease to know that if you change what you can and don't like, and everything beyond that is out of your control. When I think about it, it really relaxes me. If I'm not willing to change something that I can, it obviously wasn't THAT big of a deal to start with. Most of my friends hate that I live like this, because they don't have the capacity. Then I would recommend you read it when you get the chance. Very easy read and sounds like it would fit in nicely with your persona. |

The formula for correlating the actual measurements, i.e. impedance, weight, age, into BF is not standardized. Tanita has more than one; the so-called, "athletic formula" and the standard formula. You are probably comparing apples and oranges. TW This I was not aware of. I'm really hoping I'm actually closer to 12%, maybe a little less. I guess I still need to make the appointment for the Bod Pod to get an accurate measurement, and I don't need to be as concerned. I have a copy of The Art of Happiness and wish I could get my GF to read it. I'm not religious, but I really like the philosophy that's articulated in that book. Cheri, I've been thinking of adding to the suit photos, but I need to use a tripod and timer to do it.
