Another dumb first timer question.

OK, I'm a big Chris Lieto fan and I see he's signed up.  Do the Pro's usually do any kind of a meet the fans events or autograph signings?

reecealan - 2012-06-06 10:19 AMTo all you single guys out there, just look for the girl wearing a tutu on the run.
That is the perfect sign for you to hold after you finish the relay during the run. Great advertising.

haha--nice

Sure--I doubt he's got anything better to do! :-P We can invite him at bike check-in.

I don't think they have any kind of organized autograph get together, it's really not that big of a deal. I don't know if Lieto sticks around that long after the race. We were walking around the expo area in 2010 after we had finished our race, a couple of hours after finishing, and ran into Chrissie Wellington. She is just a nice as you would imagine her to be. She took several photos with us and chatted for quite a while. It was way cool!

Lieto was dealing with a foot injury in Hawaii this past weekend so I'll be curious to see if he races, depending on the severity of the injury.

There are no specific events to meet the pros as a whole, but if you don't catch them milling around the finish line afterwards, you can always stick around for the awards ceremony at 3:30 and try to catch them then.

Good luck to all racing, wish I could be there, but there is always next year.

Looks to be hot,

My prediction for tuwood, 4:59:59

Now if I could just get my refund back from the park for my site cancelation, 5 phone calls, 7 weeks, and about 20 emails later, still nothing. They say it's on the way though, and they have my address right so not sure what the problem is, it's not gonna kill me, just the principal behind it, I'd like to have my money back, minus the processing fee, lol.

In light of Lisa's recent FB post I say we all share what we'll be wearing for the race!

Here's my tri kit that literally came in the mail about an hour ago.

I think the conditions will make that tough, but that doesn't mean I won't try.

If I can get in with enough steam (or lack of steam with the heat) left to waddle out a sub 1:45 run then I've still got a shot.

Way to be optimistic Ali, I love it!!!!  It was 100 degrees last year in Racine for my first HIM so I'm figuring that if I survived that...

Is Kansas a dry heat or super humid like it is in WI when it's 90?

Thanks that's just wonderful (said sarcastically but keeping with the whole power of positive pre-race thinking).  Anyone who thrives on these conditions should definately come North and do the Racine race in July. Thanks for the info.

Only east of Topeka. Lol. Out in sticks where I'm originally from, humidity is kind of a novelty. But here? Yeah, count on it being humid.

My husband is a meteorologist and has been giving me updates daily this week. Unfortunately the temps have been increasing :

This will be the 4th year for "Glinda the Good Witch" to race. It's a new tutu, but yes I wear one every year

"Dorothy" posted a few pages ago - hoping one of these years she comes back. We sure had fun on the run course that first year

That was so much fun!!

That was my 2nd year as Dorothy...did it 3 years in a row.  Last year I did Boise. This year I have work travel in the way.  I should come back next year.  So many races, so little time!  Like I said, my red sparkly shoes are getting dusty!  But Toto's basket sure made a great place to stash gels and sunscreen. LOL!  And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I carried that basket and little stuffed dog for 13.1 miles!
