OMIGODISIGNEDUPFORANIRONMANINACOLDMOUNTAINOUSPLACEWTF!!!!!

I'm envisioning you riding a bike in a hazmat suit.

Sounds clammy

No, but at least it's already yellow.

My pee is nice and CLEAR ... ish ... tyvm.

Why do I remember the Bio 3 suits at Genentech being greyish-blue? I don't know, I was kind of off my rocker back then.

Okay, now too.

So. Spiglet. IMWA. What kind of tyres should I run, maybe at a very slightly lower PSI than usual? Does it matter, really?

amd723 - 2012-09-06 3:10 AM Just signed up for the sept. 23d Escape to Miami oly distance race. it's suppose to be a difficult, yet fun race. for the swim start you are ferried to an island off Miami beach where you jump off the boat and swim back to Miami Beach. The water can be a bit rough as you cross the intercostal and this time of year there is always a chance of really rough water from hurricanes messing about off shore. The bike and run are completely unshaded and involve multiple causeway crossings ( Florida hills). Temps should be in the 90*s by run time, if not sooner. Now that I think about it, I'm not really sure why I signed up for this!

Now THAT is a Manatee kind of race and decision! Well done!

Usually, I sign up for these kinds of races after I've had a few adult beverages. As I'm at work now, the best I can figure is I've had too much coffee and that clouded my judgment.

At least you have some excuse. I just hump around, being myself, and OMIGODISIGNEDUPFORANIRONMANINACOLDMOUNTAINOUSPLACEWTF!!!!!

You really should try to have a friend around for some of those times.

for the humping or the signing up for races?

Yes.

I've signed up for some really good races all by myself.

While humping?

Uh ... never mind.

Besides, you should know by now there's no such thing as "or."

From now on we will substitute the word "or" for "whilst"

Would you like cake whilst sex?

YES! Very good, Salty. It works every time.

I used my normal race ones (Bontrager R4 Aero).  There are sections of the road that are a little rough but by no means the worst I've ridden on.  Arms and neck get tired from being on the aero bars constantly, since it is a flat course.  If you need to sit up and stretch out, wait till the wind is at your back.

I'd avoid running any 19mm tires but aside from that, anything else you normally use should be ok.

*SIDE NOTE: I heard the road quality IS pretty bad at New Zealand.  I haven't ridden there but you might want to get some feedback on that one.  EST guys know it well.  Check with their mechanic (Dan) who lives in Sydney -- I'm sure he's been over there many times.

My SO just got subpoenaed for this animal cruelty case. This MOFO pepper sprayed a dog point blank   in the face just because he "thought it was barking too loud." She called the cops blah blah blah. Well, miraculously her tires were slashed a few days later.

HI, KIRSTEN!

Races aren't always just to race. They're for gaining valuable racing experience without necessarily having to race, getting in a long training day, practicing the hundred different skills you need for triathlon without the pressure.

Totally! Plus, after HIM training an Oly bike will seem like a casual afternoon ride with your grandma.  I say dooo eeeet!! I just signed up for a 5K Saturday morning so that I can get a recent race time to help with training.  It's not an oly, but definitely a last minute decision

Yep, I know it.  My dilemma is mostly with the money.  But it's the last race of the season around here and I don't want to skip it and have to wait until 2013 for my next race....  I'll probably doooooo eeeeeet.

I just pleaded bad sense of humor to Salty.

I will add: I think it's also cruel when people leave an animal cooped up all day (*cough* some people in the apartment complex near me lock their dog out on a tiny porch while they're at work).  And then you wonder why he barks all day.  Wouldn't surprise me if he has no water.

Ok panicking again! Working on a training plan for my HIM (to start after my next OLY).  I'm looking at the HIM training plan thread in TT and they are talking about 5 running days a week! I can't do 3 swims 3 bikes AND 5 runs! I'll end up divorced! (not really DH is super supportive, but STILL).

I am mainly going with the new improved Fink plan but I'm trying to fit 3 of each S/B/R per week. Does that sound reasonable? I mean of course it will depend on the length of those sessions (there are a few 4 hour bikes and 2 hour runs toward the end of the plan). I'm thinking my weekly runs will be 1:2:3ish, the bikes are 1hr-ish during the week then a weekly long ride.

Thoughts?

Back to the Manatee chatter, er... whatever sound Manatee's make.Embarassed

I'd say you are going to have to take this up with Yanti and she will decide what shall be done with you.

Glad you made that addition as I spray my dog in the face with water all the time - he loves it!  In fact, i just finished giving him a bath (outside w/ a hose) and afterwards I let him chase the water while it is full on blast.  It hits him all over his body including his face.  If i hold the hose still, he will stick his muzzle into the stream or that spot above his tale. He is one happy dog.  The neighborhood gets a kick out of his performance.
