Here is some good news for the village.

My dad does NOT have cancer. Whew!

It was a fungus in his lung. His surgeon said he didn't trust biopsies and he wanted more testing done after it was removed. That's what they found. He's on some antibiotics now. He should be ok.

kns57 - 2012-11-28 3:15 PM Tomorrow night I get to go and see the Pentatonix.  The were on the Sing Off last year.  They are an a cappella group.  I am sooooo looking forward to tomorrow night.

That sounds fun. On Friday, the hubbie and I and two others are going to see Transiberian Orchestra.

OMG, I LOVE TSO!  Wish I was going.  But they did not come to Atlanta this year.

So I ran 1.5 miles straight today. The first mile was for the neighbor I mentioned earlier. The other 0.5 was for me.

I'm getting early signs of shin splints, though. Ugh.

I'm going to a meeting tonight for Team in Training. I'm considering doing a marathon in May through them. Anybody have any views/opinions/experience with this aprticular charity endurance event group? The donations go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

I did a century ride with Team in Training.  They have a good program.  We had bicycle rides almost every weekend, and they gave us instructions on how much we should be doing during the week and built us up til the day of the race.  You do have to raise a lot of money, but they give you ideas on how to do fundraising.  I only did their program once, because the amount of funds is quite high and I did not want to bother my family and friends year after year trying to raise thousands of dollars each year.  So since then I have stuck to smaller fundraisers.

I'm going to tell you something I did. I think I did the right thing, others may disagree.

My mom told me when they were over for Thanksgiving that a cousin of mine KK wrote a woe is me letter to Ellen Degeneres asking for help. She said that she was forced into a life of drugs and crime, and no one was ever there for her. That's a total load of BS. My cousin was spoiled rotten. Her parents gave her everything. Her grandparents gave her everything. And she had a great grandmother, who was wealthy, who gave her everything. Between the ages of 16-18 her parents bought her 5 cars. 5!!! She totaled 4 of them, hence buying 5 cars. Her car insurance was more a month than my car payment. She was given a house by her dad, her parents divorced. She went through the attic of the house and sold items that were her great grandfathers, her dad was storing them there. She robbed a pizza hut where she worked after hours. She committed armed robbery in MD, she robbed a convenience store with her girlfriend. Her parents paid all her legal expenses.

She is 30 now. She recently graduated from college. She majored in Forestry. The only forestry jobs you can get around here are with the state and federal governments. You can't get a gov't job with a criminal record.

She was not forced into anything. She made bad choices. There are people in the world who truly do need help. She is not one of them. I wrote to the Ellen Degeneres show and told them this. She doesn't deserve help because she isn't down and out, she still lives in the house her dad gave her, and her mother pays her bills, and the letter she sent is lies.

Those are the best reasons to go ANYWHERE!

Not my fave. But I know plenty of others who would love to tag along too. Have a great time, Robin!

Not mine either, really. But I am in it for the show, the people we are going with and the dinner afterwards.

Ann- good for you. It's people who do those type of things that give the impression that everyone is looking for handouts. I don't know if would have had the guts to do what you did. I hope they get the letter and put two and two together and don't give her anything.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I was up most of the night with a sick kiddo. I did not go in to work today, there is no way I could have driven. I may put in a few hours from home later, it depends on how the girl feels.

Morning Ghoulies.

Ann, sorry about the sick kiddo. Kiss her on the forehead for me and tell her to get better ASAP! Good job on the letter. I hate liars and users, and they should be called out.  Nuff said!

Can I go with you? I never did buy us tickets. Last year everyone wanted to go, this year when I said about buying tickets I was the only one who wanted to go.

Ann, next year just buy the dang tickets and make someone go with you.  Once they have been, they will love it.  But you have to take someone who can handle LOUD music.
