Why oh why did I do that?

I just bought a wetsuit.

I haven't swum in months because I don't want to join Nitro Swimming for $75 per month.  There are 2 lakes and two springs that are swim-able but friggin cold (55 degrees) in the winter.  So I figured a wetsuit would motivate me to get in the fresh water...

Oh well...

jford2309 - 2013-01-04 11:08 AM my son turns 4 tomorrow and I am having a hard time finding a Thor Action Hero for him. He has Ironman, Hulk and Capt America, but no one has THOR!

Um... Amazon or Toys R Us website?  Do you have time to order something online?

not really, Bday is tomorrow!  That is what I get for waiting till last minute!

Ha!  You are so screwed! Is there anything else he might want?  Hot Wheels?  train tracks?  A drum kit to be able to annoy his parents for hours on end?

I'm already thinking of my nephew's 5th birthday at the end of the month and what the heck I'm going to get the kid.

We got my 5 year old boy one of those bow and arrow sets (with the suction cup tips) and he loves it.  We'll be sitting around and all of a sudden hear Thwack! from the arrow sticking to the target.

Other big hit from Christmas was a "Lego Ideas Book."  It has all kinds of things you can make, but it also has little speech bubbles over the lego people and the kids like to read those.

Two ideas for you.

So, which wetsuit?

I'm in a dangerous frame of mind because sick and fevered, I tend to do deluded things like sign up for major races.

Morning TAN

Just a pop-in.  Hope the first week of the year is starting off with a...with an end. Preferably with a well-timed drink in hand.

Rent yourself a Thor suit for the party. It might buy you time til the ordered one gets there on Monday (rush order, right???!!!) He might never let you take it off, though.

I didn't have much use for Scarlett in the movie either other than the fact that she looked amazing in that suit!

Good luck!!!

See if they have a "deliver to store" option.  I believe Target and Walmart offer it and it usually is in the store the next day.

Exactly!  I only have 1 of each and so far I've gotten the electric keyboard, guitar, drum set, karaoke microphone, games with marbles (so that they get to find ALL the marbles either underfoot or under the couch) and now stainless steel pots and pans (for the kitchen set my niece got - but which are also awesome for banging together).  Next up... the arrow set!  YES!!!!

Be careful!  As the recipient of these gifts for my kids for the past 5 years I have been taking notes and plotting my revenge.  This year, my niece got a marshmallow shooter.  I also included a tube of glitter which she was instructed (by me of course) to use as "gun powder."  She now shoots glitter covered marshmallows at her dad with a nice little glitter trail floating in the air behind it.

jford2309 - 2013-01-04 11:08 AM my son turns 4 tomorrow and I am having a hard time finding a Thor Action Hero for him.

I'm totally going to look for the bow and arrow set!  I'm sure my brother and SIL will greatly appreciate it!

best part of being an aunt - buying the best toys to annoy the crap out of your siblings!  WHEEEE!  (by next christmas i will be up to 7 nieces and nephews)

YES!!!!

Being an aunt is AWESOME!

Be careful!  As the recipient of these gifts for my kids for the past 5 years I have been taking notes and plotting my revenge.  This year, my niece got a marshmallow shooter.  I also included a tube of glitter which she was instructed (by me of course) to use as "gun powder."  She now shoots glitter covered marshmallows at her dad with a nice little glitter trail floating in the air behind it.

the other best part of being an aunt is SENDING THE KIDS BACK HOME.  you won't catch me producing any kids any time soon.

Well played sir!  And a fabulous idea for me to get for my niece for her birthday in May!

(thankfully, there really can't be much in the way of revenge as I won't be providing my brother with any nieces or nephews - it's like I get a free ticket to give every annoying gift ever for the rest of my life!  *cue evil laugh here*)

hahaha! Does it mean I wish I was the aunt when I'm the one buying the kids the guitar, drums, mics, whistles, kazoos, recorders, and every other noise-maker I can think of?

N

Ha!  I don't know - maybe it means you're already well stocked up on earplugs?

Get whatever you can find and stick a T-shirt on it which says "THOR". Done and done.
