Have teams been formulated yet? I haven't had time to sift through everyone's conversations. Will there be a different post outlining the teams?

I am not swimming a nanometer. I don't care what Don says.

Mascot - NOT swimmer here.

OK then. We'll put you down for 3.6 Angstroms.

How about a Planck length? I can move that far just lying still.

How about your marathon time (in minutes) divided by 5? If you hit 4 hrs, you'll only have to do 48 yds. What a great motivator, eh?

EDIT: and btw, wading in cool water after the mary is incredible therapy for the legs. After Grandma's marathon, Lake Superior was a balmy 50 degrees.

With that type of motivation, I'm expecting him to set a new world record.

Chaos? Here? Why? Are you suggesting that there are unnecessary posts here?

No! That would be like.... like.... like PADDING POST COUNTS or something!

*gasp*

Count me in! I'm thinking I'll set my goals by time. I'm still figuring out exactly how much time I can devote this month with kids out of school, etc. I'll let you know in the next few days, if that's ok. Oh, and a chatty team is always nice, if you would! Thanks!

Gulp.....

Last time I did the december swim challenge, I did 132.0km

So my goal will be to do 132.1km

So how do you compensate if I miss this goal by say 25km? I don't want to be single-handedly responsible for the downfall of my team.

132 km = VERY IMPRESSIVE!

Generally, I'd say that if you miss by 25 km, I wouldn't mind --> since you're not on my team.

But I have to say that even if you miss by 25 km, that would still be 107 km. And that's still pretty impressive.

So I won't say much more.... LOL

Good luck with it! Fantastic goal!

Hello! I'd like to join in on the challenge too, if it's not too late!

I'll make my goal 20k.

With my early Christmas present (a wetsuit), hopefully I'll get in some serious ocean swims!

I'd like to join in as well.  I pledge 40050 yards (the 50 is very important- gets me 25 yards over what I swam last year Wink).  But if all can go roughly according to plan, more than half of that will be done next week (my own little personal challenge to find my pre-IM swim speed again).

Hi can you sign me up please. I'm not sure how much I will actually do as I am a total slacker when it comes to swimming for the last couple of months but I predict I will go at least 2 x a week and for about 2000M each time sooo that is a total of about 20 km of swimming.

Thanks!

Heather Hendricks

Ok after some serious thinking, I can put down.... 20K yards for the month.  It will be a push, but I think I can make it.  That is 2.8K more than I swam last Dec.
