Yay!!!! Good job!

Still trying to get in pushups every day. Spent the weekend hiking in lightning storms and under a full moon, so no running. I am very sore, though!

Well only one of my two events actually happened this weekend.  Sat, which was storming all day, my 5k actually happened, but the mini tri on Sun (a beautifully sunny day), the tri was cancelled for weather.  Seems a little backwards to me but oh well.

The good news of the weekend is that I convinced Laura to let me get a Nintendo Wii.  So after looking for 3 weeks I finally found one in stock.  Now I have a Wii and Wii Fit.  I have only played it a little but it is awesome.  So the weekend wasn't a total loss.  Now tonight Laura and I will run with one of the Running clubs that we belong to.  Which is exciting since we will do our finale required run tonight to get the running club shirt.  So this will be a good start to the week.

A nice 1000 yards in the pool is a nice low impact recovery day

Glad you had a fun race.  Congrats on breaking 2 hours!

I raced this weekend as well - interesting race where the swim was in a canal that runs through downtown Indianapolis.  It's only 4 feet deep and the muck was very visible.  It made me not want to get in.  But I did - and once the gun went off that last thing I was thinking about was what was floating in the water.  When I got home and took off my tri top to hop in the shower I found some muck had snagged on some jewelry.  Ick - had to do some extra sanitizing in the shower!

My race report is posted if anyone is interested.

Wow, it looks like the casual thread got forgotten about.  I hope everybody is doing better than I am at getting there goals.  I think I am going to miss them by a far cry.  Oh well it's all for fun anyways.

I've missed mine, too. Which is why September is not a "casual challenge!"

yeah - not much chatter on this challenge. But in my log, I have
Percentage of month complete: 77%
Percentage to running goal: 77%

Can't get much better there.

Although, weight goal is only 40%, and I've cut back on the cycling since my increase running miles was tiring me out too much. That's only 61% complete.

I won't make my run or swim goal due to injury, but I think I'll make my bike goal. The trainer is suddenly my best friend! I should make it 50-60% of the way on my run (now elliptical) and swim goals. I'm hoping to be in better training shape for the September challenge!

Yeah and as you noticed I am in much need of the "Dee Motivational Coaching" tactics for that challenge.  Should be very fun and interesting though.

I will miss my pushups goal by two days presuming I get all the rest, not too bad there, but the run is completely due to injury. Tried to do too much too fast and am paying for it big time. I've learned my lesson, and September will be all about the slow rebuild...and outrunning the cattle prods, whips, and tasers!

Hopefully you will be healed and well rested to knock the sept challenge out of the park.  I am right there with you about out running the cattle prods, whips, and tasers.  Actually I need to focus on out swimming them more than out running them.

i nailed all my goals except for the running. (of course) ever since getting my new bike (and falling in love with cycling) i can't seem to get my running butt in gear. LOL

anyway, i'll update the spreadsheet with my stuff, and although i've had a blast with the casual challenge thing, i think it'll be good to have some competitive team stuff going on again.

I STINK at casual challenges.  Unless I have a team out there to keep me honest, I'm a total slacker.   Did a lousy job at meeting my strength and yoga challenges, but had a fun racing month.

Eh...vacation killed my training...but vacation's about vacationing, right?

With 74% of the month done, here's where I'm at:

93% of swim yardage
29% of bike hours
37% of run hours...

Boo...

I hear you on this one.  The first casual challenge was nice, but I really slacked off this one.  I am on Dee's Sept team though, so I don't think finding motivation to push through it will be difficult this time around.

I don't have a clue how close I'll be on this challenge, but if I had to guess I'd say I'm gonna be way off the mark.  I'm on a surgery rotation and some days are absolute killers.  Great experience but not terribly conducive to training.  Plus, I'm apparently not very good at casual challenges.  It appears that I may need a stricter presence to motivate me.
