Tri14kix - 2008-09-17 2:09 PM I heard some report a time ago where smart girls acted dumb and even worked at getting bad grades because they believed boys were intimidated by smart girls.

I have never compromised my grades, but I will admit to holding back on the smartness a little so boys don't think I'm a "smarty-pants". No one likes that. I don't readily offer any of this information up to guys I'm dating or trying to date. If it comes up in convo, then great. Last guy I dated, we were talking about grad school and he said something about earning "distinction" on his grad school comprehensive exam - I also earned the same on my comp exam, so I said "oh, cool, me too!" And he gave me a high-five and we revelled in our nerdiness together But usually I keep my mouth shut until they ask. The wit, however, I do not hold back much on (though I keep it clean, unlike here :-P). It's a good way to snag their interest at first Guys like a witty girl, it seems.

I like the smart women... i've only dated one girl that was magnitudes more intelligent...

she has a Phd... in something or other.. .and she gave me the article that she had published which was about a crystaline structure that she found in aspirin that wasn't supposed to happen.... i read the first paragraph and was "uhhhhh thats pretty neat"  ummm duhhhhh

I thought Hulk was Dr. David Banner pre-pizzed-off and understood that stuff?

mr2tony - 2008-09-17 2:54 PM So what about creative guys? Are they hot?

Depends. I don't like weirdo, artsy-guys. No musicians-by-trade. Last guy was an economist who used to play the saxophone. That is cool. Musicians and artists are too weird - I've spent enough time with those types. But if you know crap about words and books, yeah, that's hot.

I was specifically talking about writers.

Here's some crap about words.

"The quick red fox jumps over the lazy brown dog."

What is the significance of the sentence?

The only sentence in the English language that uses all the letters of the English alphabet.  Problem is, it didn't use all the letters only once.

Well damn...

Sitting here with my watch linked to the satellites, water bottle full, helmet, shorts and jersey on.  And realized my shoes are in the truck which my mother-in-law just took to go pick up the kids and my wife.

Guess I have to wait for my ride...

ANNNND it was the end of the song they sang at the parade grounds in `Stripes.'

Minus the word `brown' of course.

I am jealous of those folks who can make their own hours and go and leave and take a long lunch to go running, or leave early and go riding. I am stuck here from 8:30 to 6 every day. I get exactly 1 hour for lunch. Though I am going to try and see if I can change my hours to 8 to 5, once I join the tri club I want to join.

Yes. Its a drag. There are advantages to making your own hours.
