DEFINITELY need the music for solo runs. That way I can forget about MY to-do list! If I have a running partner I can go without though, and during a race there's plenty of people for me to chase in order to keep my motivation up.

WOW!! You go to dinner and get a few hours of sleep and you miss 5 pages.

to the first question - Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, yum

to the second question - no music most of the time.  if I'm running on a treadmill or in the field house at the college where my husband works then yes. if I'm running on the road then no. I live in the middle of nowhere and the few cars that are on the roads fly, I often run in or near the middle of the road where it's flatter than the sides so I want to be able to hear if anything is coming up behind me. Im doing a Rock N Roll HM in january and I can't wait... running on the road and music!!! WOOHOO!!!

Morning everyone.  Got a swim in this morning and will enter my running goals tonight. ipod only on the treadmill or trainer.  Otherwise, no music. I usually run very early in the morning and like the quiet.

We're all crazy.  Sane people sleep in and spend their weekends with their feet up watching sports on TV instead of going out for 10K runs or 40 mile bike rides.

i second that opinion.

i always tell my friends that triathlons are my CHOSEN path of insanity.

w/out them id surely be in a RUBBER ROOM.  HEEHEE!  [that or having a VERY severe mid-life crisis]

Hello TEAM!  Just entered my goal miles for the challenge.....100 miles!  Feel free to stop by my blog and give me a little motivation from time to time as I'm sure I'll need it.  I've never done 100 miles in a month and have averaged about 35 miles for the last few months.  But I have a 70.3 this weekend and start the marathon training on Monday.....

100 MILES!!! Now I don't feel so great about my 50. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the 70.3

a big ol 10 miler shaking its nasty finger at me, saying this is gonna be hard.

got a new pair of kicks [same kind, just new]  my RUN HAPPY BROOKS ADRENALIN GTS 9s.

my iPods fully charged.

i have newly purchased gummi bears to gnosh on along the way.

the sun is shining.

though a bit nip, theres no rain, so ill take it.

and i have my stuff stashing plan all worked out. 

gonna head out in my SUV in a few to stash my stuff along the route (water/gatorade/gummi bears)

and then the 10 MILE RUN WILL COMMENCE.

oh the anticipation!

I am Kim and I have been doing tri's for 2 yrs. Just finished my season on Sunday with 2nd in my age! First time I have gotten hardware! I want to do a 1/2 mary the beginning of November so this run challenge will do me good! Need to still figure out my goal. Will look at the training plans here or if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them! The longest I have ever run was a 10 mile but that was in June. I have only been doing 5k's since then. So I need to start from there. I am also a fitness instructor at the Y and need to adjust my workouts for when I teach a lot of classes.
