Cool! How'd it go?

crews - 2009-12-18 2:22 PM

Hoping to get in an easy swim this afternoon.  Then a 14-16 mile run in the morning.  I'm running the loop that I couldn't even ride when I first started riding.  I'm more excited about this run than any other

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Have some of those yummy holiday treats...just a little won't hurt.  (key word: little)

Another core workout down.  Tomorrow it's 45 minutes on the rollers and more core.  More core, more core - that's going to have to be my mantra to make this goal!

I have decided to do 15 minutes of basic core every night in addition to the core workouts (except on a long core night).  Just a little something to make the longer sessions even possible.

Be glad you weren't traveling today.  I5 South was closed in Stockton due to an overturned truck.  I bet traffic was horrible and 99 was probably just as bad with people scrambling to get around the accident.

Do you feel like you can hold your M pace for the whole 26?

Me too! I take a pilates class 3x a week. I don't include it as a challenge since it's a given.
I also just started crossfit.

Um no.... my coach says I should be able to run 26 at 7:40.... but I doubt I can hold better than 8:00 for any distance over 10 miles.  That means I will probably go boom following the race strategy come January or just not follow the race strat and run closer to 8:00 to 8:15 mpm.  Or it could all come together in the next few weeks.... I am a religeous person and attend mass every Sunday.  What will be will be.

He picked that pace because it is what I would have to run to BC, but it will probably take me another year to get there.

The reason I was asking was because your HR looked to be approaching LT when you went sub 8 mmp.  But, when running at the 8 minute miles, you look very strong aerobically (is that a word?).  Sorry, but I forgot, is it the Redding marathon you are training for?

Got in about 7mi today.  Plan to do another long-ish run tomorrow and maybe some core/strength training.  Finally got my wife to start going to the gym with me again so that's exciting.

Attention all Du-December challenge participants...  Make sure that you have the spreadsheet updated by 9:00 pm central time this evening so that I can post the most current standings!  Keep on training and good luck to all!

Hello Frostries!

Things are a little quiet around here...  I'll take that as an indication that everyone is working so hard they don't have the spare time to post   Only a few days to Christams, so I can only imagine things are going to get tougher on us all.  Let us enjoy, celebrate, and indulge in the Holidays, but not eat to manys sweets (my biggest downfall).  All the candy and cookies are already showing up around work.

Once again, I've taken the liberty to update the spreadsheet to the best of my ability.  Please double check your numbers.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Well another Sunday is in the books and time for another weekly challenge update.... Drum roll please....

The Evil Elves are on the move and have worked their way into second; however, the leaders are still the Vixens Revisited!  Complete results are below....

64.8% Vixens Revisted

61.3% Evil Elves

57.1% Frostbite Force

53.5% Christmas Cookies

There is still about a third of the month to go, so it is anyone's game still...  Get out there and get training!

Hope eveyone had a productive weekend!

i joined the master's swim group at the beginning of december and my body has finally adjusted. 9pm and i'm OUT whether i'm in my bed or not. 4:30am and i'm wide awake.

got in a couple of swims and a run over the past few days. decided that i need to eat more with all this swimming (and eat less sugar). hopefully that helps with staying awake all day.

keep up the hard work! let's do it, frostbite!
