jgerbodegrant - 2010-01-13 6:46 AM Wooo...time for Wednesday weigh-in!  Yeah yeah, I did notice that only dad and I did this last week.  But it helps me keep on track sooo....

194.9 lbs this morning (but that was after I put my contacts in)

Late for the "Wednesday Weigh In"...

227 lbs.

Week 2 of my marathon training program. Interested to see where my weight is at in April/early May!

Which marathon?

Cellcom Green Bay Marathon! It'll be my FIRST!

Awesome!  I am going to do the half.  I considered doing the whole but I will have done Boston the month before so it was a little too much.

I've been running for a few years now so I'm ready for the distance. My new Y membership w/the indoor track is making training alot easier.

Boston? Now that's awesome! I'm looking forward to checking out your training logs these next few months for extra inspiration. My friend from hs, jszat, trained for Boston last year and ran a great race. It was great to see his hard work and preparation pay off.

I'd like to think SOMEDAY I could qualify for Boston but at 6'7" and 227# not sure if that'll ever be reality. I'll be happy to finish this first race at 4:15-4:30.

bruthfred78 - 2010-01-15 8:27 AM I am so excited!  I found a 12-week swim clinic that starts tomorrow.  And the best part is...it's at MY pool!!!  I am so excited.  I'm an okay swimmer, but I want to break some bad habits before I go much further with my training.  I talked to the coach and he sounds really awesome.  200-yd time trial tomorrow...should be interesting to see where I fit in.  I'll let you all know how it goes

I started a swim clinic last Sunday, 7 week class. Doing a time trial would be a good idea to see if we improve.

Hammeroz - visit my log anytime.  I probably will  be running with joe a couple of times.

jgerbodegrant - awesome that you live near Boston - hopefully we will be able to meet up.  I am going out there by myself so I am already kind of nervous.

And I also know quite a few people doing Green Bay - both the  whole and the half

Do you know where you are staying yet?  Not sure if we are staying in the city the night before or not.  I'm excited for you.  Don't be nervous!  It's a cool race (I only know from spectating), you'll love it.  There's also a 5K and sprint mile races on Saturday morning that are a ton of fun to watch.  Last year some olympic triathlete won the 5k.  He was smoking the competition!

I ran Boston back in 1989, I was on my way back from Germany. I had to stop over in NJ to separate from the Air Force then on to Boston with all my stuff that I didn't ship home ahead of time. Other than that it was great.

I am staying at the Hampton Inn - it is about a mile from the bus pick up for the start.  They have an airport shuttle which was a big plus.  Supposedly they also will be running a shuttle to the bus if not I can take the subway I figure.  I know one other person who is going that I run with but he is staying closer to the start.  Since I am going without my family I figured why spend the money to stay downtown.

I'm hoping we can be at heart-break hill or something cool like that. Will you be there all weekend or are you just flying in the night before? You have to hit up the convention center...lots of cool stuff going on there.

Good morning. Everyone enjoying the warmer weather?

Badger State Winter games are 3 weeks out, anyone participate in them?

Since they are in Wausau I usually do them. Looks like this could be the last year for Wausau to host them. I am trying to figure out which sport to do this year. I have done the snowshoe, quadrathlon, and nordic skiing. There is a 5k trail run that I haven't done yet, so I think I might go with that.

Good morning! I will not be doing the badger state winter games as I am in New Hampshire....and as for the warmer weather...I woke up to 7 inches of slushy new snow. Thank god for all wheel drive and my indoor bike trainer, because god knows I wouldn't do anything but mill around the house today if it weren't for them!

Pretty nice here in NJ, but I am sick as a dog.  Cough, runny nose, achy.  Ugh.  Hopefully I'll be back to the gym in a few days.

For some reason Wisconsin, winter and fun don't sound like they should be in the same sentence

Hello mentor group.  Has anyone seen my motivation?  I lost it and it's getting burried in about 10 inches of snow right now.

So how sick do you have to be before you skip a workout?I can't remember the last time I missed except for sinus surgery so I guess I would have to be puking to miss a workout.

If it's just a mild cold, I'll try to get the workout in even though I may scale back a bit.  For flu or bad cold, I just skip the workouts.  If I don't get the rest, the illness tends to hang on longer.

What could be more fun than snowshoeing in 10" of fresh power?

Funny that you say that, because my new years resolution was to not start any new hobbies.  I don't have snowshoes right now and I should be spending more money for them, but the option is looking pretty good!!

As for being too sick to miss a workout....if I have anything in my lungs/chest there's no way I am willing to risk making it worse, I'll skip a whole week until it's gone.
