I did a yoga class at the beach yesterday - fun!  Today I have a run planned.  I'm debating whether or not to do a strength workout, since I have my race coming up on Sunday.  Maybe I could just do light weights or just stick to bodyweight exercises.

So my goal for this week is to get in enough workouts to move up to the top section of the slacker list.

Ah yes. It's good to have goals. LOL

D001 - 2010-07-11 2:14 PM I need one of these:

That would be very nice, but then you couldn't use the "couldn't get to the pool" or "pool closed" for an excuse when you don't feel like swimming (I'm speaking in third person here).

Hey, if I had one of those in my backyard, I'd be happy!

And I'm less likely to run around tasering people when I'm happy.

Unless, of course, people provide a REASON* for me to taser them.

* Reason = I want to taser them.

Lol, I'm so bad at training for the swim (I do like to swim, but never do it), so I was thinking after my HIM, I might start training for this 5k ows race in September.  But it's mainly a no-wetsuit race, so that kind of scares me Embarassed  I could choose to use a wetsuit, but then I'd feel like a wimp if no one else was wearing one!  We'll see - there's also a 2.5k option if I wanted, and that shouldn't be too bad since it's not too much longer than a HIM swim.

I think BW exercises can be really difficult depending on what you do and how you do them!  Pull-ups, for example - I can barely do 1 without an assist!

Uh yeah... I just did my run and went home.  I totally forgot I was even considering lifting.  Oh well.  If I can't be lazy during taper week, when else will I get the chance?!  (Don't say after the race because then I'll use it as an excuse to be a slug next week Wink)

You're not alone! ... I have my first no wetsuit race coming up in mid August (water temp will be over 84, so no wetsuits allowed at all).  The Philly Tri last month was going to be my first no-wetuit race and I was very anxious about it... then tragically someone died during the swim in the sprint race and the Olympic race was switched to a Duathlon.  So you can imagine my anxiety level now.  I did a race last year that was a non wetsuit race (but temp was <84, so they were allowed), but I wimped out and wore mine anyway.   Lots of disapproving looks and comments from lots of people.  As I sit here and type this, I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about my no-wetsuit swim that's more than a month away.

Good morning Bill!!!

The best way to beat your anxiety is to go swim in the lake w/o a wetsuit serveral times before the race - even better if you can find some friends to help....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_6tOzt-nfM  (but obviously without a wetsuit )

D001 - 2010-07-10 8:35 PM Welcome to the TdF Mountain Stages! July is 32% completed. Where do you stand? Overachievers daisy2908 - 38.30% D001 - 35.40% wgraves7582 - 35.30% crimefighter2 - 34.20% On Target Artemis - 29.70% ashort33 - 28.30% Slackers yogachic - 24.70% toocold - 20.10% LiamD - 20.00% abrady42 - 19.90% johnnyfulltime - 18.50% owl_girl - 17.00% jayhawkrichie - 15.20% emmanem - 9.80% RoniS - 7.30% pdbman - 6.30% chezz - 2.10% billsorg - Spreadsheet is still blank! chaderbox - Spreadsheet is still blank!

Pretty sad that I'm slowly dropping to the bottom of the list of slackers. I shouldn't be on there at all. However, this was before I added Saturday's workout to the list so I would have been a little higher in the slacker list if I had added it when I should. So my goal for this week if to get in enough workouts to move up to the top section of the slacker list.

Paul - just remember failing to plan is planing to fail!

Its not so much failing to plan, its failing to implement the plan.

Good morning peoples! I got in a swim and bike yesterday. They bike wasn't on the plan for the day but I needed to work off some frustrations so I jumped on the bike and headed to the outlet mall and bought some tri shorts. I was a little frustrated though because the shoe store closed early and I could use some new shoes for work. I felt much better when I got back and had a good evening with my family in Park City.
